Lorna narrowed her eyes at the nurses as they seemed to look at Tony for a final say on whether or not she would be staying in the hospital. It took all of her self restraint not to snap at them about him not being her father. Instead, she let them leave in peace and simply listened to Tony's explanation as to why he was still there. It honestly didn't surprise her. It actually took her brain a few seconds to realize that he said she was an asset and not an ass hat. "And yes the roof and you know five floors of my building, and how ever many I went through to get back up to you."She felt the bed shift next to her as he propped his feet up right before snatching the jello she had been brought; not that she was going to eat it. "Yeah, I'll get right on that. As soon as I get discharged." There was a dryness to her voice as she cracked open her eyes and watched him spoon the jello into his mouth. Then came the inevitable question that Lorna had hoped would be postponed, well, forever. "So why where you drunk before me? And why wasn't I invited?"It was a fair enough question, but it wasn't really one that Lorna wanted to address. She had a lot, a lot, of reasons to get drunk and none of them included things that were Tony Stark's business. But he had just rushed her to the hospital and stayed by her side, so she at least owed him some kind of explanation. "I drink so that I can forget who I am, what I've done, what I am." Lorna went back to fiddling with the sling. "I didn't invite you because you have no reason to want to forget. You're the great Tony Stark! Billionaire and renowned hero! I'm just Lorna Dane, bastard child of Erik Lensherr, the mutant terrorist. I'm the stupid little girl who helped him kill countless people; just another one of Magneto's crazy kids. A mutie freak."Lorna looked at Tony, her eyes green and intense. "I drink because it's the only thing that erases the guilt. And I have a lot of guilt, Tony. She smiled, almost sadly, at him. This was not the kind of conversation she wanted to have with him. Despite giving him hell, Lorna really enjoyed the tumultuous relationship she had with Stark and she didn't want to go running him off this quickly. "Aren't you glad you asked?"NOTES :: ROCK PAPER SCISSORS SHOOT (LITERALLY) TAGS :: GRAMPS SONG :: CRAZY BITCHWORDS :: ? ? ? CODED BY ELECTRIC OF GS

Left to my own devices Many days fell away with nothing to show, And the walls kept tumbling down. In the city that we love, Grey clouds roll over the hills. Bringing darkness from above. How am I gonna be an optimist about this? She was wrong, so so wrong. He wanted to forget a lot of things, things he couldnt explain. The things that haunted him every night, that made him stay up and tinker and build suits. But she wouldnt know that, no one would know. Because he had no one to tell. Pepper wasnt here to keep him grounded, she wasnt here to keep him straight and in line. Tony glanced down at his Jello cup, she had things to forget and so did he.
Tony set the pudding cup down on the table, settling back into the chair he crossed his arms over his chest. Tony allowed his head to lean back on the chair as he mulled over what he wanted to say. But the things he should say, that he understood, that he knew where she was coming from. "Well, you know. Fathers twist things, make you kill people." He said as if it didnt matter and it wasnt a big deal. "You dont have to be a pussy about it. It did make you stronger in the end after all. I mean, you clearly dont want to be like him, so thats a turn in the right direction." He allowed his sore shoulders to lift and fall as he looked at her hooked up to all the machines.
He was glad he asked, he wanted to know what she felt so screwed up. Maybe it even made him feel a little bit about about himself. Tony shifted uncomfortably in the chair, wiggling in the chair until he settled back down again. He wasnt used to doing things like this, clearing his throat he looked out into the hall way as if he wanted to leave. Looking back to Lorna he tired to think of what else to say to her.
"Plus if I left who would pay for the hospital visit?"

"Yeah, and how many people have you killed for your dad, Tony?" Her voice was sharp again as he had her full attention. "Wow, Tony, you always know exactly what to say. You know, if you're not careful, I might do more than just fold you in half." There was a seriousness to her tone as she fixed him with a hard stare. "I'm crazy, remember? Or did you miss that part in my dossier?" Lorna, honestly, could have just lost it on him then and there. It took every ounce of self restraint not to as the metal rattled around them in response to her anger. How could he be so cold so easily? She knew he was an ass and a sarcastic one at that, but... she just had to let it go. At least he went as far as to make the point that it did show her that she didn't want to be like her father. Still, sometimes Lorna wondered if he even listened to himself when he spoke. "Plus if I left who would pay for the hospital visit?""You act like I couldn't just swipe your credit card from your wallet if you tried to leave." And just like that, they were back to their comfortable banter. She felt more at ease like this, not having to face the impact of the emotional BS she had grown up with and she was pretty sure Tony would prefer to not have to deal with her emotional drama. Lorna shifted in the bed, swinging her legs over the side carefully as she moved to stand up. Haphazardly tugging at the IV tubes linked into her arm, she was freed from the bed completely. That was enough blood for her, she'd be good enough without the rest of the bag. "Ok, I stayed an hour. I feel great; like I could fight off an army of sentinels or whatever the hell it was that shot up your house. Can we go?" Lorna pulled the hospital gown off, still with her pants and bra on, before carefully pulling the bloody and holey shirt she had been wearing before. She winced, but managed to get it on before sliding her arm into the sling she had been given, followed by struggling into the jacket with just one arm. She looked back at him with a raised brow. "Enjoy the free show?" Lorna smirked at him, knowing he wasn't looking - at least not like that - but also not letting him off that easy. "Let's go." She didn't let him protest before leading them out of the hospital and back towards his suit. Lorna hurt everywhere, but this was better than sitting in the hospital bed forever. "So now I owe you for a phone, some pizza, and a hospital stay. Will you accept a monthly installment payment plan?"NOTES :: ROCK PAPER SCISSORS SHOOT (LITERALLY) TAGS :: GRAMPS SONG :: CRAZY BITCHWORDS :: ? ? ? CODED BY ELECTRIC OF GS

Left to my own devices Many days fell away with nothing to show, And the walls kept tumbling down. In the city that we love, Grey clouds roll over the hills. Bringing darkness from above. How am I gonna be an optimist about this? He had no doubt in his mind that should could take his card, use it and get away with it. But he would rather she didnt have to. That was the difference in all of this. For some reason he felt him self give an actual shit about what was happening to her. He could leave her with money and tell the nurses to ensure she didnt bother him, or that she made her way to her house. But instead he was here for her. He made a sound in his throat part annoyance and partly a huff. "I would rather you not."
Tony's hues widened as she shifted, she was making a move to leave the bed. The equipment fell away from her body as she stood. Tony was usually the one telling people he was okay, that he didnt need to stay in the hospital for another moment. But here was Lorna acting like, well him. He was shell shocked by the whole act, he shifted his weight to allow for a space for her to walk. His eyes on her as she moved, an hour wasnt long enough. But he didnt even know what to say to stop her from leaving. She struggled to get her jacket on and he was still standing there like an idiot.
"Enjoy the show?"
Tony felt his mouth press into a thin line as he kept his eyes on her. "I've seen better." The older man stated, he didnt have the need or the desire to get the green haored girl into his bed. Far from it, not to say she wasnt attractive in her own way. But this was a different kind of relationship. He wasn't trying to check her out, her strength and power was what made him like her. And she was just about as stubborn as he was.
"Let's go."
He wasnt allowed to have a say in the matter it seemed, she was already leading him out of the room and into one of the many hallways that smelt like cleaning supplies. He was watching her, standing close enough eh could catch her if need be, but not close enough to scare her away from him. It was a delicate balance he had to keep. With her he didnt know what to do half the time, she was like him in so many ways. Maybe that was what scared him the most. A small laugh left his lips, "i'll start a tab. I have a feeling this wont be the last thing I help you out with or vis versa." They where now at his suit, he looked at her making sure she wouldnt fall over if he left her. He still had to go home and clean up the mess of people left behind.
Stepping into his suit the metal closed around him, J.A.R.V.I.S's voice welcoming him. Turning around to face Lorna he shifted his now beat to crap suit. "Be safe kid." There was so much more he could have said before he left, like how he hoped she would make it home alright, and how he wanted her to call him if anything went wrong. But the words where lost on his lips as he flew away from the hospital on what little power he had left.
