SITE PLOT
THE ORIGIN OF SHATTERED DIMENSIONS
I am Uatu the Watcher. It is my task to note all events of significance in this part of the cosmos. This task brings me great joy... and great sorrow.
For years, I have watched as the Earth’s mightiest heroes waged their never ending battles with the forces of evil. I’ve watched as they’ve flourished through their happiest of days and struggled through their darkest times. Through civil wars to secret invasions, I’ve watched as these marvelous beings rose to meet seemingly overwhelming odds and face them with their heads held high.
Nothing, however could prepare them for this.
Unbeknownst to the denizens of this universe, Thanos, the Mad Titan and one of the most powerful beings in the entire universe, had once again claimed possession of the Infinity Gauntlet, granting unrivaled God-like power and mastery over the multiverse. As an act of revenge on the heroes that thwarted his plans for galactic dominance years ago, Thanos used the power of the Infinity Gems to trap the denizens of Earth 616 into a pocket dimension. This dimension sealed off the citizens into one particular region of this Earth: New York City. The citizens of New York soon found that they were unable to leave the city and that all communications with the outside world have been shut off thanks to the reality warping powers of the Gauntlet.
The creation of this new pocket dimension drove a cosmic nail into the multiverse, causing several problems for the various Marvel Universes. In no time, denizens of the various multiverses found themselves stranded in this new pocket dimension, unsure of how or why they ended up there.
