STATEN ISLAND

Staten Island is the least populated of the five boroughs and is often considered "the forgotten borough" as it is the only one that is not connected to the rest using the subway system. To get to Staten Island you have to take a ferry, but it gives you a grand view of Liberty Island, which makes it a tourist destination. It also used to boast having the world's largest dump.

Liberty Island

This 14.7 acre island is small and uninhabited, located in the Upper New York Bay. However small in size though, it is truly one of the biggest parts of New York. Upon this historic site sits the statue of liberty, a national monument and treasure. the only access to this island is via boat, and many are drawn to the scenic location for inspiration, pride, and a few tourist photo ops.

The Statue of Liberty is the most iconic figure in the New York harbor. A gift from the French, this is one of the biggest tourist destinations in New York city. A ferry is required to get there, but it's well worth the boat trip.
