THE RULES
BREAK THEM AT YOUR OWN PERIL
THE BASICS:
Rules that apply to every facet of the site.
1. Have fun! What kind of site would we be if you weren't encouraged to enjoy yourself?ROLE PLAY RULES:
2. Be respectful. This should go without saying, it's a social contract situation.
3. Watch the language and content. This is a Marvel RP site, which means we're playing by their terms of decency. "Ass," "Hell," and "Damn" are fine, but anything more vulgar by their terms is too vulgar by ours. In addition, keep the overly mature content out; while blood does happen during fighting and injuries, ripping someone's bowels out and strangling them with them does not.
4. There are staff members. They keep the peace around here. This means that every little question, comment, or concern has to be dealt with by them. They deserve respect for this and if they ask you to stop doing something, it is for a good reason, so you would do well to heed their caution.
These are the rules regarding your role-playing on this site. These rules may be amended or updated at any time to reflect any rules to the role-playing.
1. No God-Modding. This shouldn't even have to be said, but if it's not someone will inevitably do it. This includes but is not limited to: doing a million different things in a post, never getting hit in a fight (unless you're corporeal or something), using out of character knowledge in character, or anything else that gives an unnatural advantage to one player over another. Here, we will be using the term "God-Modding" as an umbrella phrase so if you are told by staff that you are, that means it fits the above listed criteria in some manner.CHARACTER RULES:
2. This site will take RPers of any skill level, but the one thing we ask is that when RPing you try your very best to use proper English grammar, unless in dialogue. This means keep the colloquialisms between the quotes.
3. Word count: This one will not be strictly enforced, but please shoot for roughly 300 words per RP post. However, if you can paint an accurate enough picture for others to respond to with a bit less, no one will force you to make unnecessary filler.
4. Everyone gets busy, things come up, people lose track of time, inspiration goes away for awhile. Those are all examples of reasons you should not hound people to make their posts. As a courtesy, please give a person roughly a week or so before POLITELY broaching the subject of a post owed.
5. Solo threading is acceptable. Please keep in mind this is a vast open world with a great amount of heroes and civilians alike, so really you are never truly alone. However we know sometimes you just need to be alone with your thoughts to which you are allowed. In any case you must still abide by the word count.
As a side note you cannot make a solo post with less than ten (10) minutes in between. This is to prevent everyone from using it just to boost post counts or speed train.
6. As with everything else on this site, please keep the language and content Comic Code Authority approved.
7. And don't forget, HAVE FUN!
When creating your character, please adhere to the following rules.
1. This site DOES allow for multiple characters:A. Per person, you may have up to three (3) separate characters. This is so that we have activity, but it won't be a one-person site.2.If you wish to create a superhero OC, you WILL BE REQUIRED to app a canon character first. This is because the Marvel Universe is so incredibly vast and filled with so many unique characters that we feel there are enough characters to choose from as it stands. If you wish to create an OC that acts as a civilian, that will be allowed without the need to app a canon character. OC characters are required to originate from the 616 Home Dimension.
B. To earn another character, you must first achieve twenty (20) IN CHARACTER posts with your most recent character. Don't think we won't check that.
C. Each character will have it's own separate account. Please make these accounts the name of the character and not their codename (characters have changed codenames, so this clears up who is who).
D. Having multiple characters in one thread is acceptable, if however there are no other people in that thread it will still count as a solo thread.
3. When making a character, please follow the Character Template found in the Character Creation section.
4. The limit of powers for an original character is 3. Be aware that the staff has the right to not allow you to have a certain power if we believe that it violates the rules in any way.
5. Plagiarism is a real thing and on a site with OCs, should not be an issue. But if you do decide to plagiarize anything from another comic character, regardless of company, we will go Liam Neeson on that account.
6. Please do not just make an account and walk away. When you make an account, within a week please at least begin the process of character creation. In the same vein, any absences longer than two weeks needs to have notice given; the exception could be length related emergencies such as illness, injury, or worse that needs your attention.
7. When you make your character, please not the following:A. Don't expect an application review right away. Give it a day or two and then ask ONCE and do it POLITELY.8. This rule is perhaps the most important. Please do not make a character you don't think you'll enjoy playing
B. When you make your character, the role-playing sample MUST be your character's first arrival into the pocket dimension.
C. Character face claims must come from real life persons.
D. A NOTE FOR OC SUPERHEROES: Your character is new to their powers. They do not have full control over them, they are not all-powerful in any way shape or form.
