DESCRIPTION AND PERSONALITY
Appearance
The first thing that is noticed about Thor is his blonde hair. Although it is not said or mentioned Thor takes good care of his hair because it makes him him. Along with this long flowing blonde hair is a large frame that makes him stick out in the crowd. Because of massive upper body he refrains from wearing any kind of clothing that is too tight against his body. Therefore he is usually seen in t-shirts, jeans, and usually boots. He prefers a more rugid appearance because it doesn't restrict his movements or body. But when it is time to become Thor the God of Thunder his appearance changes. With just a simple smash of hammer on the ground he is covered in his Asgardian armor. His armor over the years had changed from the traditional one that he used to wear, to a much darker one. Now his upper body armor is dark black with grey circles each representing the eight realms of Earth. Also he has steel grey colored sleeves with jet black wristbands. The armor is finished off pants are a steel grey finished off with jet black boots. One part of his costume that has never changed was the red cape.
Personality
At one point in his life, Thor was an EgotisTICAl Asgardian who THRIved ON glory and BAttle. He was a beatuiful, strong Prince of Asgard, destined to take over the throne when his father would step down. This was such a truth that he even allowed it to go straight to his head. Because Thor was more powerful than the most people of Asgard, and his head was filled to believe that he was destined for greatness. Humility was a unlearned concept that he was not able to grasp during his childhood. After numerous times Odin sent Thor to Earth to learn humility had paid off; not because of some design of circumstances of his father but because Thor came to understand and even appreciate the mortals he was sent to live among. Over the years he has experienced sorrow and loss due to his time spent among the people of Midgard. Time and experiences on Earth has shaped Thor into a god hat holds life in the high esteem, honor, loyalty, and compassion as a blessing. The friendships and intimacies with the humans has led him to not only appreciate their spirit, zeal, and admire their sense of honor; but also to become somewhat of an outcast at times with fellow Asgardians.
POWERS AND ABILITIES
Superhuman Strength
Thor has been gifted the ability the ability of superhuman strength. The standard Asgardian is capable of lifting a maximum of 25 ton, but Thor surpasses that with ease. Because of his mixed parents one being from Asgard, and one being from Midgard it has created Thor to be the strongest of both races. He is capable of lifting a maximum of 100 ton before it becomes a strain on his body to lift anything heavier. Although he is much capable of lifting an excess of 100 ton he is not willing to do so because of the serious physical strain that is placed on his body.
Superhuman Durability
His body skin, muscles, and bone tissues are several times the density of the normal human tissues. This grants him superhuman durability that allows him to withstand things that could kill a normal human being on contact. This includes gunfire, fall from great heights, and extreme temperatures. Not only could he withstand those injuries but it has increased his weight several hundred pounds, but gives him the appearance of football in his physical prime.
Superhuman Stamina
Thor’s body is more efficient than a normal human being which allows him to push his body much further than the normal human. This grants him stamina that is virtually inexhaustible and allows him to hold his breath longer, and exert himself at his physical peaks for weeks before getting tired.
Flight
With and without the use of his hammer Thor is able to fly and levitate in the air. The exact sppeds of Thor's flight have been clocked around 770 mph. Even though he is capable of flying faster he refrains from doing so because of the effects it could have on the buildings around him. If he is in space then he has no restraint because then he does not have to worry about putting civilians in harms way.
Healing Factor
Even though Thor has superhuman durability it is still possible to hurt Thor. Although his body physiology allows hims to heal from injuries in half of the time the recovery it takes for a human. The downside to this healing factor is Thor can not regenerate missing limbs, but he can regenerate missing organs on the inside of his body except his heart.
Longevity
Many think that the members of the Asgardian race are immortal. That is not the case at all the people of Asgard do age but at a rate that is considered to be the pace of turtle. This is why Thor is thousands of years old, but still looks to be a man in his physical prime. Though some Asgardians maintain their prime looks by consuming enchanted Golden Apples created by the goddess Idunn.
Mjolnir
Mjolnir is one of the strongest weapons ever created in the universe. It takes the appearance of a short handle mallet only because of Loki's mischief at such a young age. This weapon is durable enough to withstand the heat of the sun, and the strongest blast of energy that could be fired upon it. Because of the enchantments that Odin placed on Mjolnir it is made to obey Thor's every command as if it was a living weapon. Because of this Mjolnir will do anything and everything to be in its rightful owner's hand.
*Lightning/Electrokinesis
Most time Thor is seen using Mjolnir to channel lightning down from the sky. Although it should be noted that Thor is able to discharge lightning bolts from his hand. This method is usually a last resort when he is not able to retrieve Mjolnir in his hands. This does leave burn marks in his hands in the third degree which causes him pain.
*Weather Control
With the use of Mjolnir Thor is able to control the basic elements of weather storm. Such storms he has created are rain, wind, thunder, ice, snow, and others if the need arose. Another aspect to his power that he is able to create the storms in space even where there no atmosphere. Not only can he create storms, but he also has the ability to stop any of these horrid conditions as well.Although he has the ability to create raging storms he prefers not to in the risk of putting people in danger.
Expert Combatant
Over the years with of Asgardian training he has become one of the fiercest combatants. He has been trained in hand to hand, aerial combat, swordsmanship, hammer throwing, and wrestling. Not only has he mastered those styles, but other various styles taught on Asgard and Earth.
HISTORY
Early Years
Thor was born to the Asgardian king Odin, but his mother was one of the Elder Gods known as Gaea. Odin wanted to father a son whose power would come from both Asgard and Migard. This is why he sought to mate with Gaea. While Thor was a baby he was left on Earth during his infant mutants until he became one year. After that first year Odin brought Thor back to Asgard to be raised by the goddess Frigga. Thor would not grow up along as his father had adopted a child by the name of Loki. While growing up Loki would become jealous of Thor which would eventually grow up to a desire to murder his own brother. When they were eight Thor and Loki were sent to the land of Dwarves to ask them to create three treasures for their father. One of the most important treasures that were created was the Uru hammer known as Mjolnir. The creation process was sabotaged by his brother that way the hammer’s handle would be made too short. Upon their return to Asgard Odin enchanted the hammer that made it impossible for anyone to lift unless they were worthy of wielding it. His father had did this because he was saving it for Thor, who possession it would be in once he proved himself worthy of it. This pushed Thor physically to get strong enough to wield the hammer, and become responsible for many heroic deeds.
Modern Times
Because of the numerous deeds that Thor had accomplished he started to get the big head. Odin though wanted to knock him down a peg and decided it was time for him to learn humility. Thor had to surrender his hammer to his father, and was sent to Earth as a cripple medical student known as Donald Blake. While one his way to Earth Thor was stripped of his memory causing him to forget his true identity. In this mortal form of Blake, Thor had learn the value of humble perseverance dealing with his injured leg, and taking care of the sick. After he finished medical school Blake had became on of the greatest surgeon in New York. Odin had seen enough over the ten year span and planted a suggestion in the mind of Blake to travel to Norway. It was there in Norway that encountered aliens known as Kronans, otherwise known as Stone Men. Running for his life Blake fled into a cavern the same one that had served as his birthplace. Becoming trapped in the cavern with a boulder Blake struck it with a cane not knowing in disguise it was Thor’s hammer. As he struck the boulder it turned him back into his true form of Thor. In this form he was able to escape and sent the Kronans back to there home planet.
At this time Thor had not been able to recall any of life as an Asgardian god. As months went by the memories of who he was started to come back slowly. Then after a few years Odin had finally revealed to him who Thor really was, and why he used Blake as a cover identity. While on Earth for many years he had gained a strong love for a woman named Jane Foster. This relationships would not be able to last because Odin and Loki’s interference in the relationship. Their efforts would do no good as the relationship came to an end at its own.
Avengers
The day had came for Thor to meet heroes of Earth after his estranged brother caused the Hulk to go on a rampage. His strength had allowed him to keep up with the strength of the rampaging beast giving the other heroes time to slow down the Hulk. After breaking the Hulk free from the manipulations that Loki had him under he was asked to become a founding member of the Avengers. Thor and the Avengers had went on many quests together, but he would not always joined them as he as called away to Asgard. His longest absence occurred when he had traveled across the Nine Realms. Thor luckily had returned in time to aid is fellow Avegers against the mutants of Utopia. Though he would not be there for that battle as he was called to space to stop the Phoenix Force that as on its way to Earth. His first attempt was unsuccessful as it left him badly injured. Trying to stop it for a second attempt caused him to crash into the moon leaving him out of the battle. Thor to this day stands as one of the founding members of the Avengers. He has become one of the greatest protectors of Earth and Asgard sometimes causing his father to question where his loyalties really lie. But his father has not to to worry as Thor is always there when he needs him to be.
ROLE-PLAYING SAMPLE
His head was throbbing as he laid there in the self made crater. Blinking was all he managed as his body tried to heal itself from what just occurred. The Phoenix Force had knocking the living daylights out of him. Thor would be damned if it would take it out for a third time. The first two times he could have considered lucky, but he couldn't because Tony told them what to expect. He disliked the fact they were starting a war with Cyclops and his mutant following. But because of the actions of Scott provoking Captain America he now laid in a crater. Grunting to himself he arose from the crater missing his helmet, and Mjolnir. Raising his hand to his side he felt the hammer handle slam into his hand. ”Now where is thine helmet?” Looking around he finally found it crumpled into small bits. He sighed because this one had last for about six months, now he would have to visit the Dwarves for a more durable one.
Whirling Mjolnir around he propelled himself into the air heading back towards the battle scene. He saw nothing but bodies laid around everywhere. Gritting his teeth at his fallen comrades he saw the trail that the Phoenix Force had left behind. Following behind it he started to feel different a certain sensation crept all around his body. ”What is going on with me..?” The answer wouldn't come as he just passed out. His whole body just went dark he saw nothing, or even heard anything at that. The sounds of multiple car horns blaring at his ears awoken him violently, but he was still out of it. His eyes stared at the blue sky above him as he noticed that he was not in space anymore. ”By Odin’s beard! That iconic phrase of his wasn't as strong as his voice was still recovering along with the rest of his body. Standing to his feet he placed his hands on one of the hood of the cars that were honking there horn at him.
Stammering he walked off the road leaning on a nearby building. His body finally started to get back to normal as he was able to process where he was. ”New York, how?” Thor was confused because he was just in space. His flying speeds were fast, but he was not headed towards New York because the Phoenix Force went a different direction. Eyes were staring upon him wondering just who and what he was doing here. They were sure that he should have died because of the massive hole that he left in the ground, but he just live. Flying into the air he noticed that he had lost Mjolnir somewhere in this city during the madness that fell upon him. Extending his hand he could feel the faint connect but it as if some mystic forces were blocking it from coming to him. His first order of business was to find Mjolnir then figure out what in the hell happened to the God of Thunder.
