DESCRIPTION AND PERSONALITY
Norman Osborn is an average height man with short auburn hair that he usually keeps slicked back. Despite his age, his physical state rivals that of a peak professional athelete due to his exposure to the Goblin serum. He typically wears professional attire such as suits and ties, and holds himself very highly, his posture perfect upright and his postural tendencies to stray towards standing 'above' others. He has a large cross scar on his chest which has mostly healed, but is still present from his former impalement.
In the Green Goblin outfit, Norman dons a green mask with distorted features and large, orange eyes with a hood on. The outfit is lined with body armor and metal plates to ensure Norman's safety, yet still remain relatively light for him to have full movement. The base outfit is green with dark purple glovea and tunic, with a number of pouches around its waist, containing various weaponry. Norman also has a large satchel slung over his shoulder for holding even more armaments, and wears large purple boots as well.
Norman has a strong personality. he asserts himself fully when speaking to people, showing his dominance. he BELIEVES he is more important than anyone else AROUND him, and sees himself as a hero, becoming upset and frustrating when others get more spotlight than he does. norman believes in survival of the fittest, picking off the weak when they are of no more use to him. however, norman is also incredibly cunning, and knows when to stay back in the shadows, operating from behind the scenes. he is a man that can think three steps ahead of everyone else, creating complex plans that start with simple actions, though he can become obsessive quite easily. due to his exposure to the goblin formula, his sanity has been shattered, leaving him become erratic and unpredictable at times. NORMAN struggles to grasp his sanity, but sometimes this DYSFUNCTION causes him to make rash decisions and not think as clearly as he is capable of.
norman is obsessed with spider-man, seeing him as not only a rival but an equal, and claims that the webslinger gives his life true meaning. his warped mind sees spider-man as the son he never had, and has devoted most of his life to not only killing spider-man, but completely destroying the life peter leads and hurting the ones closest to him. due to him forgetting spider-man's identity, norman has devoted his obsessive tendencies to other equally AMBITIOUS ideals.
POWERS AND ABILITIES

HISTORY
Norman Osborn was born to Amberson Osborn, a wealthy businessman who ran an invention company. However, when Amberson's company failed and almost all of his fortune was lost, Amberson turned into a violent alcoholic, taking his failure out on his wife and young Norman, who were subject to physical and psychological abuse. It was then that Norman saw that only the strong survive, so he vowed to never be weak. One stormy night, Norman's father locked him in the house alone to force him to overcome his fear of the dark. Norman became afraid of a Goblin-like creature that he imagined was stalking him throughout the house, and came to be comforted by the dark, fearing that when the light was cast on him, the Goblin would attack him. Norman formed a need for power and wealth in an attempt to never become the failure his own father was, and received degrees in chemistry and electrical engineering at Empire State University.
Norman also fell in love with a girl named Emily, who gave him stability and balanced out his dark need for power. Together they had a child, Harry Osborn, though Emily died soon after the birth. Without her light to balance out Norman's darkness, he became fixated on his quest for power again, neglecting his newborn son in the process. Eventually Norman built the company Oscorp with his BUSINESS partner Mendel Stromm, who was eventually found to be using company earnings to pay for his personal expenses. Norman had Mendell arrested, and gained control of the whole company in doing so.
Norman continued work on a strength-enhancing formula Stromm had begun, following stolen notes to try and complete the serum to sell to the highest bidder. After many failed attempts using employees as test subjects, Norman eventually created a formula that became unstable, causing it explode in his face and hospitalizing him. However, Norman realizes that because of the formula he has gained an increased regeneration rate and increased intelligence, which furthers his megalomaniac needs.
Osborn dons the guise of The Green Goblin, remembering the monster that used to stalk him as a child, and attempts to rule the criminal underworld. However, he is stopped multiple times by Spider-Man, and decides that he needs to get rid of the hero before his plans can come to fruition. Through a series of schemes, Norman learns of Spider-Man's true identity as Peter Parker, but SOON AFTER his mind is damaged by a chemical explosion, giving him amnesia, and forgetting he ever was the Goblin at all.
Over the course of the next few years, Norman has fits of relapse where his memory comes back and he dons the Goblin outfit, though his amnesia always returned. Eventually, he remembers his Goblin persona, and in an ATTEMPT to get back at Spider-Man, kidnaps Gwen Stacy, Peter's lover. He drops her off the Brooklyn Bridge, and Spider-Man tries to catch her, the intense whiplash from his webline causing her neck to snap. During the fight afterwards, Norman gets impaled by his own Goblin Glider and is killed, though Harry pulls some strings with the police force to make sure none of the Goblin serum's PRESENCE is revealed to the public, making Norman's death DISSOCIATED with The Green Goblin.
However Norman was not dead, the Goblin formula ensuring that his body survived the impalement. Killing a drifter and replacing his body, Norman then goes to work behind the scenes to sabotage Peter's life, employing a number of pawns to create clones of Peter, and kidnapping his child when Mary Jane was forced into premature labor. In a confrontation, Norman tries (and fails) to kill all of Peter's friends and kills Ben Reilly before disappearing. Norman is then PUBLICLY outed as the Green Goblin by reporter Ben Urich, though Norman employs a number of means to disprove this, going as far as to have a fake Goblin kidnap his grandson, Normie. During this time, Norman is still a thorn in Peter's side, though he controls things from the sidelines, hardly ever actually donning the Green Goblin outfit. Eventually, thinking he has gained IMMENSE power from a ritual called The Gathering of Five, Norman goes on a rampage to kill Spider-Man, but instead of power from the ritual, he has gained madness, causing him to lose what little sanity remained. As he is being taken to a psychiatric ward, he is kidnapped by a cult before he is properly unmasked, being put on a massive amount of drugs to keep his sanity in check.
Norman later returns, dependent on medication to keep himself stable, and launches multiple attacks on Peter. Eventually, he is publicly unmasked by Luke Cage and Spider-Man and incarcerated. However, he hires The SCORPION to kidnap Peter's Aunt May and makes a deal with Spider-Man to break him out of prison in EXCHANGE for her safety; Spider-Man reluctantly agrees and breaks Osborn out with help from Black Cat. NUMEROUS FIGHTS against Spider-Man again continue, until Norman is eventually detained by SHIELD after the Superhuman Registration Act is passed, having fled to France after an engagement with Spider-Man. Norman is injected with nanites by Tony Stark which control his behavior, and is employed on various missions for SHIELD. However, Norman is DECREED beyond SHIELD control after he disobeys orders due to a serum that neutralizes the nanites, and is taken into custody. However, Norman makes a deal with the Commission of Superhuman Activities (CSA) to lead the Thunderbolts, a rogue grouping of reformed supervillains. He is given medication to control his sanity during this, though Moonstone tampers with his medication, hoping he will go insane and be revoked as the leader.
After Peter makes a deal with Mephisto to save his Aunt, Norman forgets his true identity, and his Thunderbolts clash with Spider-Man multiple times at Norman's lead. Eventually, when the world is invaded by the Skrulls, Norman fights against them with his team of Thunderbolts since his Oscorp tech is unaffected by the Skrulls mass attacks, while Tony Stark and SHIELD are debilitated. Norman personally deals the killing blow against the Skrull Queen and it is aired live on TV, leading him to be seen as a public hero. He is then given control over SHIELD's remaining resources, which he renames HAMMER, and fires Tony Stark, manipulating the media to assert that he was the reason the Skrulls were able to infiltrate the world. He buys out StarkTech, though is unable to access data from the SHRA due to Stark implementing a virus in the system.
The Thunderbolts become Norman's own black ops team, quietly attacking and taking out any heroes that could derail his plans. After saving the President from a staged assassination by a fake Green Goblin, he is also given control over the nation's defenses and creates his own Avengers team made up of villains posing as heroes, as well as HIMSELF in a redesigned suit of Iron Man armor, calling himself the Iron Patriot. These 'Dark Avengers' take out a number of other heroes and attack those who oppose Norman, who uses his influence over government and media to spin these attacks to keep him looking like a hero.
Eventually, Norman, slowly losing his sanity, lets his Green Goblin side talk him into attacking Asgard, which now resides on Earth. By doing this, he thinks he will achieve ultimate power, and when denied the APPROVAL of the attack by the President, he stages a tragedy involving Volstagg which results in a major loss of human life. This gives him a reason to attack Asgard, but through a chaotic and destructive series of events, he is eventually defeated by Asgardians, rogue members of SHIELD, and Captain America's personal team of superheroes. When the Iron Patriot suit is ripped off him, it is seen that Norman has painted his face to look like that of the Green Goblin, showcasing to the world his deranged state. He is then taken into SHIELD custody to be locked away.
ROLE-PLAYING SAMPLE
Norman scanned the room as he heard the man in front of him talking, looking for a possible escape route. However, the room seemed airtight. It was shield, after all, and he was a supervillain in custody, after all. the man paused, flipping through some papers. he was a tall bearded man with a fancy shield uniform on, most likely a high ranking official. he didn't seem wary of norman, and held an air of dignity about him. the man found a piece of paper and shoved it into norman's face - it was a criminal record, with norman's face clearly stamped on the front. norman looked up at the man, whose face shone a mix of hate and joy that created defiance. Norman hated that look. the man moved the paper and went on blabbering about war crimes and blah blah blah. norman couldn't bring himself to pay much attention - after all, Norman hated losing, but he hated admitting to losing even more. he had to admit though that this time...this time was different. He messed up. His mind had fractured, his control over the Goblin had been lost. "Nothing to say to me, Osborn?" the man asked, his voice finally piercing through norman's internal thoughts. Norman looked back up and stared at the shield agent, his cold eyes boring a hole into his foe's eyes. His target was not amused. "Take him out of here and get him to the Raft. I'll talk to fury about a more permanent solution after that." the man commanded the other agents in the room, motioning to the two armed guards near the reinforced door before performing a retinal scan and leaving. the door closed with a metallic slam as The guards exchanged worried glances, then advanced towards Norman.
"I can walk myself." Norman spoke, his voice slightly harsh from his previous silence. The men stopped, each laying a hand across the weapons holstered on their belts. Norman looked up from the cold metal table, his eyes glazed in resentment.
The room hung quiet with an air of tension before the heavyset guard on the left swallowed, daring to break it. "Mr. Osborn, you are an enemy to the United States, and by extension, SHIELD. You must be apprehended and escorted appropriately. Failure to do so will result in not only further criminal charges but also possible use of force to induce cooperation." The man mechanically said, his voice almost trembling.
Norman smirked, some of his white teeth showing. "Well, I wouldn't want to interrupt SHIELD protocol. Carry on, soldier." He raised his arms as far as the chains would let him, the sudden movement causing both agents to step back and immediately set into a combat stance. Norman stared at them, the smirk spreading even further on his face. He loved putting people on edge. Seeing the loss of control and the recollection of primal instincts within people was just so...amusing. The skinnier agent on the right stepped forward first, breaking from the fear of the criminal, and punched in a 5 digit code on the table, which unlatched the chains from it. Norman looked down, disappointed that the chains were still around his wrists themselves, but it was a start. The heavyset man grabbed Norman's arms tightly and pushed him forward, making him stand and forcing his feet to follow the same movements. The skinny man unlocked the armed metal door as the other agent kept forcing Norman forward, making him move down the well-lit hallway, the metal walls so glossy they were almost reflective.
Norman gazed at his pseudo-reflection as they walked, his appearance distorted in the metal. He still couldn't believe it had all fallen apart so quickly. It's all the Goblin's fault, he thought to himself, If I hadn't listened to what he said, I would be helping the world. Remaking it in my image. Saving people from themselves. The three of them stepped in a reinforced elevator, and the skinny man pressed a series of buttons on the touch screen. Norman felt the elevator lurch before descending, his mind still lost in thought. Then, a familiar voice rang in his brain. No, Norman. I helped you. Don't you see? You aren't Norman Osborn, the hero. And you never will be! You're not here to help people! You're here to crush them. MAKE THEM BOW TO YOU, THE GREEN GOBLIN! The voice shouted in his head, echoing and growing louder. Norman could feel himself start to sweat and he closed his eyes, the darkness comforting him. No. That's not true. You ruined everything! I shouldn't have...I shouldn't have listened to you. He asserted, but the Goblin merely laughed. HAHAHAHA! Don't you see, Norman, that now you are reborn! You get to start a new life again as The Green Goblin! This is who you really are! AND NOW EVERYONE KNOWS IT! You can NEVER escape me!
"NO!" Norman yelled out aloud, his eyes shooting open. he felt his pulse quickening, sweat now saturating his forehead. He turned to see the heavyset HIELD agent had a gun pulled on him, while the skinnier one had his hand on the baton strapped on his belt.
Norman, I'm here to help you. I've always been here to help you. I AM you. The real you. And now you're not the Norman that has to hide from the public. You're back to being the one true Goblin! The voice yelled out in glee. The Goblin's voice. No...it was Norman's voice. It had always been Norman's voice, he knew that. He knew that he had been lying to himself, tucking the voice away, shutting it out, trying not to listen to it. And where did that get him? Locked up by SHIELD and publically crucified. No, it was time to embrace who he really was. And that was The Green Goblin.
"Mr. Osborn, are we going to have a problem?" The heavyset man grunted. He may have been afraid of Norman, but his training was instinctual. Norman looked at him, their eyes locking, before a smile spread across his face, his teeth baring in a wide grin. He could already feel the Goblin formula surging through him, overpowering the drug SHIELD injected him with.
---
And then, in a flash, it was gone. The old world, the world Norman had been molding, shaping to perfection was something...new. Different, yet oddly familiar. After all, it certainly looked like New York City. The towering buildings, the flurry of people walking place to place, the blur of yellow taxis on every street. But Norman was...free. No SHIELD agents, no chains, no metal rooms. No signs about the Superhuman Registration Act, no Asgardian homelands on Earth, no headline about Norman Osborn being taken into custody. This place was not the New York he had come from. Norman looked at a reflective storefront window near him, The Green Goblin staring back, and grinned.
"We have a lot to do."
