▌ Upper East Side, Tony's House and Area ▌ Month Day, 00:00 EDT
Work, work and more work. That seemed to be his life as of late, major clean up and work. Today was no different, Pepper was already on his case about getting the new office tower up and running. With the way things had gone down in New York, Tony loved it. The fast paced days and the new building design kept the gears in his head working. There wasn’t enough time to think about what had happened until darkness fell and he was left in the dark with only his thoughts.
“Tony.”
Blue hues snapped up to Pepper, she stood before him with that look on her face. He had zoned out again and she was trying to get his attention. Raising an eyebrow he questioned her while clearing his throat. There were a couple of contractors on the far side of the room seemingly waiting for what he had to say. “I am sorry, what was the question?” Pepper gave a little sigh and held up the flooring book in front of her. “I said, do we still want to go with the oak? I kind of like the cherry wood more.” She mused as she looked down at the book and pointed to the two options. Tony answered her with a shrug and a small smile, “sure I like whatever is hardest to break through.”
This didn’t seem to be the answer she wanted, she gave a roll of her eyes as she closed the book and walked to the contractors. She handed them back the book and had a few words with them, then she walked back to his side. “What? You pick all the fine details that’s fine. If it was my shop it would be different, but I mean it’s kind of half your baby.” Her hands went to her slender hips and he knew he was in for trouble. “Half my baby? Tony I have been in charge of just about everything, you name may be on the side of it but this is my pride and joy.”
She was right, she had put a lot into this building. The male stopped his mind before it could wander to what had happened to destroy it. He spoke with his hands moving them in a circular motion as he spoke his next words. “Well, I got the ball rolling. I constructed the plains and did a three dimensional rendering of it so that the people could make it happen.” Tony having lived with Pepper for the last few months had learned when to turn away from her death glares, she was about the only person in the world who could put him in his place. Turning towards the fridge he grabbed a bottle of water and busied himself with opening it and taking a drink.
Pepper started to ramble on about the building and her hard work, he wasn’t ready to admit that he wasn’t in charge of his emotions or his actions as of late. “You know what?” She stopped midsection waiting for him to say something ground breaking. Tony set the half empty bottle onto the table top as he walked away backwards from the woman he loved. Palms smacked together as if in thought. “I am going for a drive, or rather a flight. I will see you at home since, you have this all under control.” The red head stood there for a moment confused but then she crossed her arms over her chest pressing her lips tight.
Just as her lips where turning white in color he stepped backwards into his suit, lifting his arms it instantly closed around him. ”Tony!” She sounded annoyed, he would hear about this later. His face plate fell down into place as he stepped backwards out of the gaping hole in his building and into thin air. Hello sir, annoying Miss Pots as always I see. Just as J.A.R.V.I.S spoke the boosters came on in his suit, allowing him to fly through the air, “I wasn’t annoying her, I was just avoiding her. Set a course for home.” Tony said as he moved through the air as if nothing could stop him, a sense of freedom filled him. Yes sir.
That’s when it happened the glitch, everything went black for a few seconds, buts that’s all it took for J.A.R.V.I.S to have to reboot. “J.A.R.V.I.S!” Tony gasped as he felt himself falling, he felt his chest tighten as his mind flashed back to that night in New York. “J.A.R.V.I.S!” He gasped as he saw the system reboot system flash twice, then he hit the building. This impact being absorbed by the suit, he felt himself fall through three floors before he hit the hard subfloor concrete pad. Groaning he could feel the tightness in his chest, he wasn’t sure if it was the fall that made it so hard to breathe or the panic that filled his chest.
Sorry sir, there must have been a glitch in the systems. Breathing heavily the display screen came on, showing him the machines around him. They all seemed to be made by Stark Industries but he didn’t remember making them. “Check, check the heart. Check everything.” Iron Man laid in the curator he had created with his fall, closing his eyes tight as he tried to think clearly. You seem to be having a panic attack sir and we seem to be in New York. He allowed his head to fall back and hit the ground, “how did I get here?” He asked as he let his eyes wander the room, this seemed like his stuff but at the same time it all seemed so foreign. I cannot find an answer to your question sir.
Tony stood slowly, dusting dust and pieces of building off of his suit. Looking up through the hole in the roof he engaged his boosters, flying up and into the sky he looked down on what seemed to be his building. Sir, what is it that you are looking for? Blue masked hues looked out over the city, “anything.”
Why was it that every time something happened his buildings got destroyed?

He was quietly levitating in the library of his home, while the orb of Agamotto was resting in front of him once again. He has decided to try meditating over the orb and trying to see the disruptions and movements of this dimension as he was trapped in and trying to find any others. His eyes remained close as he was mentally seeing the disruptions, new questions coming to his mind. He was feeling worried as he hasn't found many of his friends or allies, mainly illuminati members. At the time he was thinking of branching out to contact his friend Spider-man or reach some close allies like Danny or Captain, when he noticed another disturbance. He sees it was Iron man flying into the air and figure he should try to contact him.
He focused on Tony to see if he can make a mental connection to deliver a message, but stopped at the last second, as he remember something. He didn't know if it would be the Tony of his timeline or in the past, and think it be better to go in his astral form first, just in case. He fet his body starting to lower down from it's levitating stance to actually sit on the ground. He let his body relax, before his projection drift out from his now 'sleeping' body as he gives his room a casual glance around to make sure it was secure. The last thing he wants is someone to disturb his body while he was away and begins to float through the ceiling of his home and out into the city.
He flies through the city skyline to and searches for the flying suit, before seeing it off a small distance away. He stops only a few feet away from him and lets his ghostly projection become visible so he can see him while he converses with him. He speaks lightly "Hello Tony." a simple greeting as to catch his attention as he floated in front of him, and hope for being recognized, or this is going to be a little more difficult then he would of expected.

The city looked the same, it seemed the same. Yet different all the same, the city around him didnt feel right. "J.A.R.V.I.S, I need to know why I am here. What's going on?" Tony said as his masked face took in the city and then looked back down to where he had just crashed into his house. The large hole bellow his floating form felt like his stomach. Sir, I dont have an answer at this moment. I cannot say how you got here. Tony could feel his heart, twisting and his stomach turning. He could feel the stress in his body and his heart racing. He hadnt had panic attacks until New York and now as he was floating in the air he could feel another one coming on. Tony was about to go to his now broken home when the display screen before him lit up. There was someone before him.
"Hello Tony."
Blue hues went wide as what looked like a man appeared in front of him. "Whoa!" Tony exclamed as he flailed backwards, his limbs going every which way. Righting himself, holding up his hands before him he looked at the thing before him. "Stay away from me." The display told him he was alive, that his heart was beating within his suit. "J.A.R.V.I.S, scan it. Search the Stark Industry's data base for his name." Tony said to only J.A.R.V.I.S. Tony waited as J.A.R.V.I.S worked and reported that he could not find the man's name or if the thing before him was a ghost. "If your a contractor I am not interested." Tony said the the thing before him, the suit still trying to decided what exactly it was.

He watched Tony reaction to him suddenly becoming visible and speaking to him. He kept his face his usual neutral look as he watched him flail backwards briefly, which under normal circumstances could be consider a little humorous, but rarely if ever do they meet under such conditions. "Stay away from me." He heard him say afterwards, figuring it was still his reaction to him appearing. He figured this would be better then in person, since he didn't know how this interaction would of gone.
He listened for now as he didn't want him to start attacking him, even though it wouldn't do anything, but still. He waited for him to calm down and compose himself so they can start speaking, but hard to tell since he can't really see his expression. "If your a contractor I am not interested." he frowned to those words as he ended up in one of the least favorable situations that he wanted to avoid, sadly this one was out of his hands.
He stood there, really floated there with his arms behind his back and in upright posture as he speaks to him finally "I can see by your reaction and manner of speaking, is that you do not recognize me.. This is quite unfortunate." he had hoped slightly that with a member of the illuminate that he knew they can figure something out or fill him in what happen to cause the gems to be taken. He looked to him carefully as he trying to figure if this was before they met in the past or if he is from a different timeline all together.
He figured he would get his answers eventually in conversation as he spoke to him "I suppose I should introduce myself. I am Doctor Stephen Strange, some refer to me as Doctor Strange, and i am the Sorcerer Supreme." he gave it a couple of seconds to let it sink in, before moving his hand to gesture down to the ground "I get the feeling you have questions for me, and I may have some answers, but would you like to continue this conversation on the ground, or up here. I do not mind either."

A short cut off laugh escaped Tony's lips, unfortunate? This whole thing was unfortunate, the projection before him seemed saddened by the fact that he had no idea who he was. Tony eyed the projection warily as it kept speaking. "Well Doctor Strange you clearly already know me." He was used to forgetting people, mostly women he been with over the years. But this was different, he wasn't used to people coming up to him in this manor. Pepper was beside him most of the time as well to deflect people. The Doctor offered to answer some of his questions, answers where what he wanted. "Fine, meet you down there." Iron Man told the hologram as the boosters in his boots cut and he dropped towards the earth once more.
It was a controlled fall as soon as he was close enough the flaps of his suit moved and the stopping booster engaged. Feet now on the ground in front of his half destroyed home he crossed his arms over the chest of his suit. He wasnt willing to leave the safety of it just yet, not until he understood what was happening. As soon as Strange joined him on the ground he shifted on his feet. "So, you offered answers and I want them. Why am I here and how do you know me? Please say it wasn't a drunken night in Europe." Tony said not moving as he added humour onto the end of his sentence. Deflecting felt a whole hell of a lot better right now then dealing. He wasnt sure where he and the man before him stood, where they friends some other place? Could he trust anything he said?
Speaking only to himself, "J.A.R.V.I.S, look for signs of e regular heart rate and-. Never mind scratch that, we wont be able to measure a projection." It felt good to talk to J.A.R.V.I.S it felt normal to. Just because he had agreed to listen didn't mean he had to believe him without more research. "I dont know how I got here, I mean I've blacked out before but this wasn't like that. This was different, my systems also rebooted when I got here." It was all wired and strange, it shouldnt have been happening, he had been on his way away from New York. Yet he was back at his house and tower with no Pepper.

"Well Doctor Strange you clearly already know me."
He nodded his head lightly at the statement as he speaks "That is correct." he says then hears his decision on speaking on the ground. He nodded and let his himself start to drift downwards towards the ground. He let his 'feet' touch the ground, so it looks like he standing there, it may help him relax, as he kept his same posture from before standing straight with his hands behind his back.
"So, you offered answers and I want them. Why am I here and how do you know me? Please say it wasn't a drunken night in Europe."
He thought the questions over in his mind, ignoring the bit of humor that he added at the end as he thinks over which he should answer first. He knows either it will bring up more questions for him and comes to decision on the which to answer first "I'll answer your first question first. I do not know why you are here, but I do know how you got here. Like me, we are ripped from what we were doing and brought to this version of New York, by Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet." he paused to see if he recognizes either of those names. He continues on "Currently we are trapped in New York, as if he placed a giant dome over us. I managed to trace it out and map it."
He paused to let what he said sink in, before he continues on "As for the second question.. I should correct myself. I don't know you, I know a version of you from my timeline." he starts off "We are from different timelines, universes to put it in perspective. In my timeline, we are members of a secret society of certain people that meet during dire crisis such as this." he moves his hand as to gesture on what is going on "To figure out how to solve problems like this. Sadly others from that society hasn't shown, but we do have other Avengers we can look towards, if it comes to it." he looks to him, knowing this is a lot to take in and believe, but it's true.

They both touched down on the ground and he watched as the Doctor let his fake feet settle on the ground. He was clearly well trained and he also didnt find the humour in the words he spoke. Tony couldnt help the pit in his stomach started to grow as the others words settled onto him. They felt heavy, he didnt listen to the rest of the others words. Strange was looking at him, Tony's mouth was open as he tried to calm down. Trapped, and dome didnt go well together. Not for him, it was like New York all over again he was terrified. His armoured hand went to the place over his heart as he shook his head. "Why?" Was all that could leave his lips that now felt too dry and his body felt too heavy.
"No, we can't be trapped. You havent tried everything. Ill figure this out, I have to figure this out." He spoke more to himself then to the projection of the man before him. He felt his mouth moving under his mask, he was trying to find the words to describe what was going on in his head. He could feel the gears turning but the words just weren't coming out. Strange started to speak again and it took everything for Tony to listen. His breath came out laboured as he listened, people where looking to him to help save the day. Some kind of secret society that he didnt even know about. "I.. I need to sit." He allowed himself to fall to the ground.
Sitting there he opened the helmet and lifted it off of his head. Letting the mask fall between his legs he allowed his head to drop to his chest. At least this Strange fellow knew he wasnt the right guy, he wasnt the Tony. "I... I can't help you." His left hand went up to his raven black hair as he tried to think clearly again. "I don't know who these other people are. I only worked with Thor, The Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Cap." He was going to be useless and now he was alone and lost. New York was bad enough before but now being trapped in the city where his nightmares lived was so much worse.

He carefully watched him as he spoke, to see how he reacts to certain things he said. He heard him reply once he finished speaking about their situation "No, we can't be trapped. You havent tried everything. Ill figure this out, I have to figure this out." He paused for a second, then continued on how he knew him, seeing how he was reacting, didn't look well. He picked up on the heaving breathing and went silent as he saw him sit down then removed his helmet. "I... I can't help you." he didn't let his expression change, as he can imagine this was hard for him to take in "I don't know who these other people are. I only worked with Thor, The Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Cap."
He takes a couple of moments to keep the names him mentioned in his memory. He speaks in a gentler tone, one he uses when he speaks to patients when he trying to consult them about their options for surgeries "Relax Tony, take small, deep breaths." he watched to see if he would listen or not.
He patiently waited to see him calm down enough for him to start speaking once again, returning to his normal tone of voice "Do not worry Tony, I still believe you still can help. You may not be the one I knew, but you are still Tony Stark. You still became Iron Man, and from I'm guessing you still became a hero to those around you." He finds it odd to give encouragement to someone who isn't a student of his, but he still tries. He walks over to stand beside him "Tony, I have faith you can still provide a clue on figuring on a way out of this cage. Remember you do not carry this burden alone, as I have this on my shoulders as well."
He gives him a little smile as he decides to tell him something else, that may help him "Earlier while I was meditating, I did see Captain America, I do not know if he is the from your timeline, mine or a completely different one. I know the chances are low, but maybe a familiar face may help. He is over by the tower." he moves his hand over to gesture in the direction of where Stark Tower would be from their position.
He brings his hand back to the side as he continues to speak "If you wish to seek me out anytime after this conversation. I live over in Greenwich Village." it is a small part of New York City, that he figure it be easy to find after a little bit of searching. He stood there as he wondered if he may have any other questions for him, as he did have some for him, but he'll wait.

"Relax Tony, take small, deep breaths."
He followed the others orders, he knew he had to calm himself. He tried to push the issue from his mind as he sat there with his head in his hands. Slowly as his breathing came back under control he looked up to the projection once more. He was still a hero, he was still Iron Man. Strange made him feel like he could do this, he may not be the Tony people knew but at least he was here to help. He felt himself nodding, leaning back on his hands on the ground. Looking to at the other he squinted one eye against the sun. "Your right, I am Iron Man. No one can take that from me."
Doctor Strange spoke again and it took Tony a second to catch on. It wasnt until the other pointed towards the building with his name on it did he whip his head from the tower to Strange. "Wait, there not living there are they?" It would be bad enough to be thrown into this place but even worse if he had to share. He had a hard tme getting along with others let alone living with them. He and Pepper had gotten along and she had been his rock. But this would be too much. By the look on the others face that was exactly what he was saying. "Greenwich garden got it." He nodded as well accepting the others offer.
"Okay sounds like a deal." Tony stood from his place he had taken on the ground and picked up his helmet as he stood. Placing the helmet back onto his head and he let the face plate fall back into place. "I'll see you around Strange." He knew right away what he wanted to do, he wanted to know what was going on and how he could get back. With one last look at Strange he took off into the sky towards the building with his name on it.

"Wait, there not living there are they?"
He silently shook his head towards Tony's question and gives a small reply to it "To my knowledge no. It is more of a headquarters for the Avengers. A meeting point basically." he says so he wouldn't have to worry to much about it. He probably tell him about that some do live in the manor, but that was something he decided to keep quiet on. He wouldn't want him to get stressed out over something minor as that.
"Greenwich garden got it."
"Greenwich Village." he corrects him quickly, he wouldn't want him to search around the wrong area. He watched him as he stands back up and placed his helmet back, hearing the farewell as he nodded his head in return to him then sees him take off into the air. He turns around and makes his way back to his body.
A few seconds later, his eyes reopened as he was sitting on the ground in the room as he last left it. He felt a little tired from the projection, but looks down to the Orb of Agamotto as it rests before him. He picks it up and moves it to its proper place once again as he decides he should go outside and do some research on the field. He might of missed something during his astral trips.
