Why do people always assume I'm lying?

The kid was getting used to being in this realm. He knew how to cope with situations that he was forced into. He could adapt to fit in with anything, he thought quickly and had Ikol at his side. That would hopefully help him. Then he would get home and save the day like he had to. Because if he didn't, the Serpent would win. "You keep going through the streets but you aren't going to find anything," Ikol commented and the boy shook his head, pulling the hood further up to hide his face and crown. "It's not like I have anything else that I can do, is it, Ikol?" He asked the magpie. The bird fluttered around him and he watched him for a few seconds.
With a sigh, he walks on, head down as he moved, trying to not attract attention, pulling his (stolen) black coat around his shoulders to try and keep him warm and hidden. Of course, he couldn't keep out of trouble for long. Often it seemed that trouble simply found him. Only a few streets later, a cold gust of wind blew the hood from his face and revealed the glittering gold crown on his head. Going to pull it back up, his green eyes caught the sight of a bunch of teenagers. They were all staring at him and pointing at him and muttered. The trickster quickly turned and turned to walk the other way. "Keep an eye on them, Ikol," He said, pulling the hood up. "They're chasing you,"
Casting a glance behind him, eyes fell upon the group rushing forwards. His eyes darted to Ikol and he resisted the urge to shout 'run' to the bird and instead just made a break for it, dodging through a crowd of people as he moved, running as fast as he could. The sound of footfalls came behind him and he pushed himself further. He was rather good at running. He turned a corner, starting a woman and man but quickly got past them until he one headed him off and the boy went tumbling as he tried to dodge the leg that had been stuck out just before him. In seconds he was on his feet once more but he was surrounded and the child turned around, looking for a way out.
"That's Loki, isn't it?" One asked and Loki turned to look at him. "You must be mistaken, I am not he," Loki lied, like he knew so well. "A version of him," Another said and Loki found himself being shoved into a much larger boy (of about sixteen) who grabbed him and held him tightly. "I assure you, I'm not Loki. I'm just another Asgardian. There are many of us," He replied, struggling to get out of the grip and only just managing it because of his biology. But all he got in response was a punch and a kick and still no way out. I need to stop getting myself into these sorts of situations, He thought.

It had been two weeks since he had first arrived in town and he had to say that things hadnt really gotten better. Sure his house was getting fixed and there was no longer a draft, but he didnt have all his suits. He had one and had started to change the black one that he had found. Which ever Tony had been here before him had the right idea for the stealth, but what was the point of that when you couldnt stand out? So Iron Man stuck to the red and gold suit, flying across the sky of New York. J.A.R.V.I.S was in control, Tony was just along for the ride today. Blue hues where closed as they made there way between buildings and over trees.
Sir, I am detecting some trouble. It seems that one of the characters has the same genetic code as one Loki. Blue hues snapped open as he came to a halt mid flight. Looking down on the group of children he could not spot the elder man that he knew was Loki. He had beef with the trickster who had thrown him off a building and tried to take over his brain. The display screen picked out one of the younger and shorter children from the group. It seemed Loki was fighting people way out of his league again.
Tony dropped from the sky, the flaps on his suit slowing him down. He hit the ground next to Loki, his right hand out to support himself. There was a rush of air as he landed as well as a few gasps. His masked face turning towards Loki as he stood to his full height of over six feet. Tony didn't say a word as he reached out and lifted the boy off of the ground by the front of his shirt. "Loki, hiding in the form of a boy so young is kind of sad dont you think?" The front section of his mask came up exposing his face to the young male and then to the other boys. "Get out of here." After a few more gawks at him the other children left, leaving his full attention on Loki. "Well?"

Preparing to try and escape, the trickster knew that he had little chance of getting out without having some injury of sorts. Green eyes glanced around at the faces. There was no pity or concern on the faces of any of the teenagers around him. They were really prepared to beat the twelve year old up but he refused to beg them not to, or to protest or shout for help. Maybe he could defend himself with his hands. He didn't want to risk a couple of spells. It would probably be too dangerous and he couldn't risk getting cast as a villain. He didn't need that. He didn't want that. It was just his luck that he already had such a reputation. He guessed he could blame his former self for that.
Ready for the punches that would come his way, Loki noticed the sound of something approaching and his eyes flickered to the source, just in time to see a blur of red and gold as a metal man came flying in and the other teenagers went backwards, recognising the superior Dealing-with-Loki force. The trickster leaned back as he felt the blast of air around him. He took in the words that Iron Man said and quickly built up several conclusions from this. This Iron Man did not know that he was reborn as a boy but he did know who Loki was (which probably wasn't surprising). Still, it seemed that Iron Man would not be too kind to him and Loki would need to take quick action to ensure that things went well.
Watching the teenagers run, he remained calm, turning back to look at the hero with child like green eyes staring at the man and an itching urge to take a picture of the man with his Starkphone. "Look, you don't know me. Maybe you know a version of me but that one is no doubt nothing like who I am. I work with my brother now. I'm good and all that sort of stuff," He insisted, holding his hands up and away from his body in a sign meant to show that he was no threat. However, he was already planning a way out of this, incase he needed to avoid getting blasted or something. Most people had trouble believing him when he said he was good. Or really when he said anything. Such was the curse of the reputation that his former self had built up.

Tony had the boy by the front of his shirt, with the help of his suit the small boy hardly weighed anything. Tony looked down at the trouble maker through the eye holes of his mask. J.A.R.V.I.S had been right, it did seem to be Loki, it just wasnt his Loki. The small boy spoke of working with his brother and trying to be better. He seemed to be unfaced about being lifted off of the ground. Reluctantly Tony set him back down onto the ground.
Crossing his arms over the arch reactor in his chest he sized up the boy. "You better be, or else I will have something to say about it." He said in a sober tone, he didnt want to have to hurt a kid. But he knew the Loki in his world was quite the trouble maker. It was hard to just forget all that had happened in Ne-. He stopped his thought process right there. "If you are such a good kid then why where you fighting with those other kids? That doesnt sound like the type of thing that a good guy would do." He was being harsh to the kid, but he wanted to get all the facts. Sure he could be assuming the worst, but that seemed to be better then expecting the best.

He was being held up as if he weighed nothing and the trickster looked up at Iron Man's eyes, his own young face a picture of innocence. There was no way he was going to let himself get hurt. He didn't want to get into a fight with any one. It would be even worse to have to defend himself from a super hero. Without any strong magic, Loki knew he was weak and vulnerable. His words were his armour and where the only things that kept him safe. Green eyes nervously look down to the hand holding his clothing and then back up to the masked face and eventually he was released.
Hand moving to lightly touch the neck area where clothing had rubbed slightly at the grasp, the action was more instinct than actual bother. It was just something he should be expected to do and would add to hopefully convincing the iron clad hero that he was indeed a young and unthreatening child. He had to think about all his actions. He had to plan. He was took vulnerable to do otherwise. "I believe you," He commented as he was told that if he was lying, then he would be interfering. "But do not worry, you have nothing to fear from me," He added with an honest smile on his face.
Feet kicked at the ground at the question that was now put to him. Loki looked like a sullen child who didn't want to answer a question about why he didn't like another child, or had been told he would not have any pudding because he hadn't eaten his greens. His eyes fell to his feet for a good few seconds and his shoulders were slightly curved inwards. "It's not like I'm exactly loved by the public. And I seem to look like a rather easy Loki punching bag considering my age," The boy muttered, not too keen on sharing the fact that he was getting picked on for being who he was. "It happens and I usually avoid getting recognised any way. And no one gets hurt even if they do catch up with me," He added.

Nothing to fear fromt hat little trickster, the one who had almost allowed an alien race to take over his plant? It was hard to forgive and forget, but as he looked upon this younger Loki he had a feeling that he wasnt being fair. Why should he be mad at a child foe what another him did. Maybe it was possible for this Loki to be as good as he said he was. Tony chewed on his lip inside of his helmet as he considered his options. The young boy looked down at the ground as if he was in trouble. Tony watched as he kicked at the ground as if it would help him to look more like an innocent child.
"Well, if you are in fact as good as you say you are that will change. It may take some time, but they will come around. If and only if you are in fact good." He mused to the young boy, it wasnt like he could take the kid into custody. It seemed like this younger Loki didnt want to fight him or trick him, so far. Tony relaxed a little allowing his hands to go from a crossed position to rest on his hips. "kids can be cruel." He offered the boy, he hadnt been one of them. He had tried to keep to himself and not bother the other kids. Growing up an only child he had never had to fight for anything. Well maybe his fathers affection.
Iron Man cleared his throat, "well then. Carry on I guess." He felt kind of silly for jumping to such conclusions. But to be fair in his world it was a different matter. He felt wired now standing before the small boy now. He had chased away the kids who had wanted to beat him up. But he had thought that it was the other way around. "So, yea. Fly straight kid or else you will be meeting me again soon. Next time itll be a lot worse. Understood?"

There was silence as the hero thought about his words, no doubt. Loki waited. Each second seemed to drag by with nerves tingling through his body. He didn't want to get caught in a fight. He didn't want to be taken to some sort of prison. His brother wasn't here to protect him. "Believe me, there is nothing I would rather be other than good," The boy said, honesty ringing in his voice. He just feared that the universe would not allow him this chance. That it would want to make him remain evil like his former self. No matter how hard he fought destiny.
There wasn't much words of comfort when speaking about the other kids chasing him. Loki didn't suspect that anyone would be too concerned. He was a former villain after all. Most people would probably be glad that he was being knocked down a few pegs. Even if he didn't remember his life before now. He tugged lightly at his tunic to help keep up the appearance of being a young and blameless child anyway. It was better to keep this pretense.
A trickster like grin came to his face as the hero seemed to be considering leaving and the boy looked up at the older man, glad in his iron suit, green eyes sparkling. "Can I take a picture of you? I recently brought a phone and I've decided to make use of it's abilities to record single moments in time," He said. Loki doubted this was the Iron Man he knew, because he had met him before and so the Starkphone may come as a surprise. But even if it didn't, he thought it would be amusing for the both of them to reveal his chosen method of communication. And the trickster did enjoy amusing situations. Of course, it would also mean he would have one of the best photos one could get on a Starkphone; One of the original Mastermind. Although the shots of Asgard were rather impressive.

He wanted a picture? Well he wanted to use it to take single frame pictures. The kid seemed to be alright, he wasnt trying to kill him or take over the world again. But being around him made Tony uncomfortable. Loki had been the one to bring aliens to Earth. He was apart of the reason Tony couldnt sleep through the night. Tony looked down at the child in green. "Fine, since you asked so nicely." Tony turned slightly to the right so that it was a better angle for the photo. As soon as the picture was taken Tony straightened himself and cleared his throat. "Now remeber what I said, be good. Ill see you around kid."
With one last glance at the kid Tony spread his hands to this side and allowed the boosters in his suit to take him up and into the air. He couldnt do anything else with him, it was high time he got away from the brat and back home to try to figure out what the hell was going on in the city and why he was here and not with Pepper.
