1096 MS MARVEL WOO LETS FIRE THIS THING UP A BIT
THE KEY TO IMMORTALITY IS FIRST LIVING A LIFE WORTH REMEMBERING
At the mention of rounds he assumed she meant patrolling. Everyone had their own way to describe what I was, but really it was not much different than the cops that floated around the city waiting for calls or simply being vigilant. They all had responsibilities to take a night or two and just wander instead of simply being on call. The work was exhausting, especially when you couldn’t just sleep during the day what with classes and work. That’s what made a team even more useful, with shifts at least some of them could catch a bit of shut eye now and again.
The invitation extended to him was not verbal but he could tell from the tilt to her head and the way she spoke it that something along those lines were there. The choice was his now, carry on with his own watch of the city, or get to know this Ms. Marvel a bit better. The decision would be an easy one though, as a former member of her own universes Avengers he knew there was lessons he could probably learn from a veteran like herself. Or at least, the veteran he was being lead to believe she was. His hand rose up to make a prayer formation in front of his chest and slowly he bowed to her before offering a bright smile.
“Would you mind if I accompany you? I am sure there is much I could learn from you. It would be an honor to crime-fight with an Avenger no matter the universe.” Unlike Peter he was not so much of a ‘fanboy’ for the avengers, though their skills did impress him. He looked to them like he would the decorated elders of his home in k’hun Lun. He had already learned new combat maneuvers from Captain America, and seen the amazing techniques and skill of Iron Man. Surely there was even more he could pull from the renowned Ms.Marvel.
Before the request could really be considered though it would seem the cosmos had different plans for the two heroes. Through the still calm of the night the sound of a motor boat was not much to pay any mind too. The river was often frequented by boats and other aquatic traffic, but as this one drew ever closer, the roar of the engine ever louder, it would turn out to require more of their attention than just a sound could let on.
The first indication of trouble was a gathering murmur of voices from citizen just below the building the two heroes were perched on. People below watching as the speed boat bucked and turned erratically through the waters. The throttle on full despite the fact the boat was completely vacant. It wasn’t until the curious gasp turned to a few muffled screams that that situation was realized as one that would become catastrophic.
A perfect storm of circumstances was about to lead to a real mess and one that might just take a few innocent lives that night. The unoccupied boat caught a wave turning it in for the shore which had caused the first row of screams. The second and far more powerful wave of panic was sent out as one of the wake waves the out of control boat had itself created rushed the shore line swelling the water and pushing back to create the perfect ramp. The high ended boat nose missed the wave but when it was hit just under the back of the boat and motor caught it giving a burst of speed and the empty double engine speed boat caught the wind and for a moment became a plane. The heavy motors were not ready to part with the earth for too long, as the vessel flipped into the air and lost the perfect aerodynamics it came hurtling back down to earth. The crowd scattered with panic filling the night air, blood curdling screams now radiation out from the scene along the road systems and walk ways. The boats hitting the ground hard and skidding well into the heavy traffic flow of the streets. Steel met steel as the boat broad sided the first car sending both into a spin. The spinning boat motor blades catching the second oncoming vehicle and shattering into dangerous projectiles. Cars traveling to closely behind those hit smashed into the backs of the ones ahead of them, others affected by the bits of debris or panic veered sharply and in avoiding the collision ahead ended up in buildings or the guard rail that gave out and nearly lead them into the Hudson. By the time it all played out 12 cars were part of the pile up and another 4 were off the road after evasion attempts. One teetering dangerously at the rivers edge, and the boat was in so many pieces it was hard to make out in the swamp of metal debris. Smoke billowed from the scene threatening to become fire when any of the ample gasoline was sparked. People cried in fear and pain as those who could woke from the shock. It was hard to guess the number of affected people. Bystanders lay injured around the scene and no one knew how many were in each car. Many were trapped under the piles of steel and others unconscious and unable to escape.
It may not be a villainous crime, but in the hero business it was not always super villains and ray guns. This was one of the moments when heroes’ truly immerged. Saving the lives of the innocent when they could not save themselves.
Danny rushed to the roofs edge and for a moment could only look on in shock at what had all happened in only seconds. The chaos was enough to rock even the most hardened of men and the cries that radiated from the streets below mad it feel more like a war zone then a regular city street only moments before. Looking to Ms. Marvel there was little that could be or need be said. All he could even think to do was nod to her before jumping the ledge and using the distance between the two buildings to ricochet off of and slow his decent before landing at street level and heading into the crowd.
First things first, try to clear the shocked away and get some space before making it to the mess of steel and trying to work through how to get everyone out before the waiting powder keg caught flame or worse exploded.

Would you mind if I accompany you? Kamala barely had time to respond when screams resounded through the street. Ms Marvel instantly turned her head around, trying to figure out the reason for it. Left. Pinpointing the location of the screamer was made easy by more screaming and yelling. A group of people was already beginning to run away with panicked sounds. The ones that remained pointed at something, something in the water. But before Kamala could follow their pointed fingers, a motor boat just flew over the shore, crashing into the street. Kamala didn't wait another second. She ran towards the danger. Cars were piling up. Honks, metal clashing sounds and more screams joined in a cacophony of dystopian sounds.
Arms and legs elongated immediately. No care was given to how she would appear to Iron Fist. When saving lives was involved, Kamala's mind switched to a one-track path. Call it the doctor syndrom. I need to get there fast. That meant trying something risky. With an enhanced jump, Ms Marvel launched herself into the air, away from the rooftop where the other hero was. Then, she shot her still lengthening arms, trying to claw to the next building or something to cushion her fall. Her left hand missed, but her right one caught a defunct fire escape ladder. Rotating around the building, the heroine reached the accident scene within moments, albeit at great speed. "Outta my wayyyyy!" She yelled as she gained weight in a desperate attempt to minimize the bruise when she landed. Ms Marvel finished with and unceremonious roll into a car. "Ouch." She was pretty quick to get up, despite the huge dent into the vehicle. "Sorry. Sorry." But looking around, she quickly understood that the dent was the least of everyone's worries. There was smoke in the air, a dozen of piled up cars and one tethering on the edge of the road, ready to drop into the water.
Kamala started rushing towards the precariously balanced car. She jumped over one car. Ignored the screams from far outside the region. Focused on the car. "Heeelp!" A voice cried out, right from the car next to Ms Marvel. She turned around. There was a kid. She could see his scared little face, pushing against his window. Balanced car. Kid. One look at the kid's car was enough to make up her mind. The front of it was completely crushed under the remains of the boat. There was no question about his parents being dead. A tear in her eyes, Kamala oversized her hands and started pulling at the boy's car door. It creaked. Beads of sweat formed on her chin. The kid was silent, but his look was still pleading for help. "Ungh." With a grunted effort, she pulled the door out of the car frame. "Finally." She looked at the boy. He had started crying. Annoyed, Kamala yelled at him. "Just run!" She had other people to save. The kid just froze, stunned. No time. And with that, Ms Marvel just grabbed the boy and made a run for it. She'd have to return to the balancing car later.

1096 MS MARVEL WOO LETS FIRE THIS THING UP A BIT
THE KEY TO IMMORTALITY IS FIRST LIVING A LIFE WORTH REMEMBERING
It was not that he didn’t notice the rather strange display of powers from whom he had just been told was Ms.Marvel. Maybe it was just a different power he had not heard much about? He was certain though that he heard she could fly. Right now, it was just the least of his concerns.
Smoke burned fiercely at his eyes and lungs as he rushed to the scene ushering the shocked and dazed away from the smoldering wreckage. He knew there were people still caught up in the vehicles, but it was a game of chance that they were still alive. These people were and if he wanted to keep it that way they needed to be clear of the possible explosion that could shake this already rattled roadway. Each time he ducked closer to the smoke it took that much more a toll on his body. The fire department had masks for a reason and the inhalation was already causing him to sputter with coughs. Still Danny pressed forward dealing with the discomfort as he helped everyone he could clear the scene and instructed those who were fit and able to continue to do so without returning to close to the scene.
Taking a moment he could see, only just, through the billowing black haze that Ms.Marvel was moving for the teetering car. He would have to have faith in her that she would take care of it, there was to much to be dealt with to have two heroes on the same car. Besides something like this should be a walk in the park for an experienced avenger right? He felt sick for bringing his worries about her honesty to light in this dire situation but something was eating away at his gut.
Ignoring the gnawing feeling in his midsection, and the intense burning in his eyes and lung he looked quickly over the crash for a place to start and that’s when he heard it. It was faint among the chaos and far louder screams of panic from those un injured, but it was there. Sobbing pleas from the heart of the pile up. Moving in he could feel the heat of the readying blaze and his eyes were next to useless this close to the smoke but his ears and other senses guided him towards the voice. The car was stuck under another that had been flipped over on top of it in the impact. The passenger of a red sedan was cough between sobbing cries for anyone to help her. Looking up at what he could only assume had been a car on top the vehicle Danny saw all he needed to see. The blood on the web cracked windshield and motionless frame of a body pressed to it was confidence enough that the other had not been belted in and there was little hope that he survived the impact. His focus had to be on the one who was calling out.
“Stay still, I’m here” he spoke out through the smoke as his hands finally found the door to the badly damaged car. Forcing his eyes to focus he got luck as a small gust of wind carried the smoke away long enough for it to become clear this was not about to be easy. The passenger’s side was caved in, the window blown out but the opening only half accessible as the door was crushed down by the weight on top of it. Danny had skills as a hero, he could fend for himself against some of the toughest oppoents but he was not like Luke or Peter, he didn’t have heralding physical strength that surpassed any natural human talent. Even with adrenaline in his system his options were limited. His one star feature right now was his ability to remain calm and keep focused despite the mounting pressure and risk. Through the small opening he could see a young woman curled up in what was left of her seat. There was blood staining her blonde hair and the cloths she wore. He had no idea what her condition was other than conscious, but for now that had to be enough to move him forward.
“Help! Please god help me” she wailed reaching her fingers out of the opening as if somehow he could just pull her out of it to freedom. Touching her hand he offered what little support he could through contact alone. “I’m Iron Fist, I’m here to help but I need you to calm down. What’s your name, how old are you and, and how badly are you hurt?” he asked in a calm collected tone that was horas from the smoke.
“Angelica..my name is Angelica and I’m 29..my..my husband is..he..” Tears over took the womans voice but despite knowing what she had been trying to say he had to be stronger and he squeezed her hand while his eyes traveled the visible frame of the car for points of entry. “Hey..Angelica..It will be okay I need you to focus right now so we can get you out..how badly are you hurt, can you move?” he continued to speak as softly as he could while also focusing on the escape when he noticed a way he may be able to get the door open.
“I…my leg hurts..but I can move..I think I broke my wrist..and..i hit my head” Danny nodded and slowly let go of her hand. “Okay I need you to get back from the door and be ready to get out the second I tell you to okay..Its gonna hurt but I need you to push past the pain.” Fixing his stance he focused the chi to his hands, the glow offering enough light to see his target even as the smoke began to return. The base of the door was not damaged, and the hinges would work if it was free from the top of the car. The only issues was he had no idea if the roof would cave the second the door was opened or not. It was a risk he had to take. Using the thin opening he would have his access and with years of breaking bricks he could easily pin point the places of failure. Lining up the shot he pulled both arms across his chest and after a breath swung both forward to cut into the sides of the window. There was a sick whine of the steel but everything remained intact for now. “Okay Angelica.. on three I will open the door and we will get you free…one..two..” and on three he pulled with the muscle strength of a competitive body builder and the door came open with and angry crunch. The hiss of weak steel filled the air but before the roof gave way he had the 29 year old out of the car and despite her cries of pain, pulled her clear and out to where the other victims and bystanders could look after her till the authorities arrived.
Coughing hard he gave the girl a smile before he ran back over to check the rest of the cars. While most had gotten themselves free, there were still many more who had simply not made it. Circling over to the side were Kamala was he checked over the cars and got his first look at the boat. How had it gotten so out of control? His moment of curiosity was short lived as he heard it, that unmistakable woof before everything went even more to hell. The heat finally hit a breaking point and he only just made it out of the way as fire erupted over the front end of the pile up. Danny covered his eyes as to shield them from the light and heat, and his only thought was how greatful he was and lucky they all were that it was not an explosion..yet. “Ms.Marvel!?” he yelled out to her “what’s your status?”.

Ms Marvel cradled the child like a baby. Her body over-sized while she walked to safety. As she felt her precious cargo lighten, Kamala began picking up speed. The kid was still wailing. "Please stay strong." She told him. "We're doing our best." A few seconds later and she felt he was safely away from danger. "Stay here." Ms Marvel pointed a stern finger at the boy. "Whatever you do, don't go back. Don't follow me." And with that, she turned around again.
Inferno. Her first launch had allowed the young hero to reach cars before the fire had really grown out of proportion. But now, things were truly bad. "By Allah." Kamala stood there, frozen despite the intense heat radiating from the burning cars. Out of the corner of the eye, she spotted Iron Fist. He was saving someone. Coughing. The smoke billowed around them. Does he need help? Why was he just talking? I can't just stand here. The trademark Kamala rush happened again. Using her giant size, she ran into the huge mess.
But barely a few steps into the cloud of smoke and Kamala had to stop. Her head was completely covered in black, hot clouds. Need... air... But how? Remember... medical training. In case of fire, stay low. Her size was playing against her now! Ms Marvel bent down, already bringing some relief to her screaming lungs. She was shrinking rapidly. As her head progressively cleared up, she stood up again and looked around. Her size kept shrinking until she was the size of a child. She had kept the mass of an adult however, to make sure she had the muscle power to help. It would slow her down. Ms Marvel? What's your status? Kamala's heart jumped when she heard the words. It was almost like being called up for a surprise test. "I'm fine." No, this was serious. This wasn't a test. "I'm taking care of the tethering car!" The one she had targeted before getting sidetracked by the screaming boy.
Kamala jogged again -the maximum speed her dense little body could reach- towards the car balancing at the edge of the road. The smoke.. She couldn't see it properly. Was there someone inside? How stable was it still? Kamala barely had time to form these thoughts when the vehicle slipped. Oh no. OhnoOhnoOhno. Without any plan, Kamala just threw her arms back, then shot them forward. They elongated like rubber, reaching the end of the sliding car. Got it. But that was only half the work. The superheroine started slipping herself. "Shit!" Was all she could say. Kamala needed support. She needed weight. She needed to stop moving towards the water. There were only other cars around her. Would they move if she attached herself to them. How could she grab one of the other cars without her hands?
Instead, Kamala decided to just go very heavy to act as a counterweight. Prioritizing her legs, she just gained mass and started walking away from the water. Her pace was slow, and the bigger effect seemed to be to stretch her arms longer. But at least it didn't feel like the car was sliding further. On the flip side, Kamala was gaining size again, coughing and puffing through the smoke. Didn't think that one through. Story of her life. Need to bend down. Could she downsize while keeping her weight? Or would she lose the crucial leverage she had on the car. The fact that she was facing the other way -busy walking towards the inland- didn't help assess the situation.

926 MS MARVEL DRAMA!!
THE KEY TO IMMORTALITY IS FIRST LIVING A LIFE WORTH REMEMBERING
The heat of the flames lapped at the back of his neck as his lungs forced him to cough out the toxic smoke. His eyes teared in attempts to cleanse and cool them, the stinging created by this nearly blinding the blond teen as he waited to hear the game plan from his fellow hero. What he heard was surprise and what he thought might even be uncertainty. Was it really possible this woman whom he was fighting with, and avenger, had a moment of panic? Once the objective was given he nodded and after another coughing fit he gave a thumbs up “Okay I’ll make sure everyone is getting out of the way and try to control the fire” he offered hoping he was not wrong in leaving her to the car now.
Getting himself further from the flames and smoke he was able to clear his vision and from what he saw people were finally starting to see that the flames were a sign of further danger, and the crowds were backing away. Some already warning the rest that an explosion was still possible. With vision fully restored he jogged the rest of the way over to help move the injured and get the others back to a safe distance, all the while his mind worrying about Mrs.Marvel. In this spot among the masses he could not see the car or her through the smoke as it began to blow out over to the river. From the sounds of it help was still fifteen minutes or so away if traffic didn’t block them. Was she alright? Was the car up? Was it wrong of him to assume she could do it on her own? Should he go check?
All the questions flew through his head as he worked like a robot to assist those around him. They were a mess as the thoughts made his mind feel ready to explode until it did, or well not his mind but an explosion anyway. The boat had a fuel tank in it and with the flames heating up the sealed steel canister reached its breaking point and the second the cap failed and flew off the remaining gasoline ignited and all the pressure of the flames being sucked into the container made it blow. The fire ball was massive and the nose and force knocked any and every thought from Danny’s head. His hearing became nothing more than a whistle and while others were toppled over from the small shock wave he managed to keep his ground. However, that was not the only thing reaching out ready to put him on his rear or worse. The explosion sent the car that ended up wedged on the boat up a few feet and backwards onto the pile of cars behind it. The front tires and other bits of steel radiated out in all directions. It was one mans misfortune to be in the line impact from the tire.
A split second, just enough time for the man to flinch, was all the time Danny had. Thankfully it was all he really needed. A glimpse of the projectile from the corner of his left eye and lightening reflexes had a glowing hand colliding with the tire inches before it hit the innocent bystander square in the face. The impact would have killed him instantly, but to his good fortune the power of the Iron Fist sent the tire flying off into a near vacant building. Following the turn it took to hit the tire Danny managed to also deflect a mirror and another few shards of metal before he or those around him were injured further. “I would move back further if I were you” he offered to the people who thanked him in a rush as their feet carried them not only away from the flames but away from the situation all together. Funny how near death would be the lesson needed to tell people a crash was no spectator sport.
As the situation ‘calmed’ again and Danny finally got his thoughts back, only one seemed to hold any value. Was Mrs.Marvel okay? She had not immerged from the smoke and flame and after the explosion he had no idea if she was now injured or if those in the car were in need of more assistance then just one person could offer. Looking to the crowds and knowing the fire department would be closing in he put an arm over his nose and mouth to help filter the smoke as best he could and took off back into the real heat of the inferno. Fighting his way through the black smog to where he remembered the car being.
At the risk of further damage from the smoke inhalation he called out to her praying to hear a response. “Mrs.Marvel! Are you alright? Where are you?” he asked still trying to find any pocket where he would be able to see her better. Coughing from the question he tried one more time “Mrs.Marvel?” The thick smoke burnt at his tongue and tasted of steel and oil. Sinking lower to the Ground he tried to keep below the heavy clouds and even with his eyes nearly shut and each breath more painful than the last he pushed forward to the spot where he had last seen the teetering car. –Please be alright..- he thought knowing he would not forgive having okayed her to continue with the rescue even though there had always been the chance something would blow.

Kamala's face was strained. She had never before used her powers so intensively as now. She was fighting the stretch on her arms, trying to compress them to pull the car fully back on shore. Her body was gaining weight at increased speed, trying to counter-weight the car pound for pound. And she was also downsizing, essentially increasing her density, to avoid getting completely surrounded by the dark, billowing clouds of dirty smoke. Her body was tense, stressed to the maximum, and each of her steps felt like a ton. But she was making it. The car was moving back up. Kamala didn't dare look back, focused as she was on her multiple tasks. But she could feel all the pieces move the right way. She knew she didn't ought to think about it that way, but it was a great training in body-awareness, and what her powers could actually do. "Heeeeelp!" The voice from the back of the car brought her back to reality. Was it stable enough to save the poor person? The car was now three quarters on the ground, from Kamala's rough estimate.
Iron Fist's next exclamation injected an additional urgency in Ms Marvel's thoughts. Drop and go. The car was going to hold. She was going to do the some thing as with the kid earlier. Run to the car, tear the door apart and carry the bloke inside to safety. It was all going to be ok, and the car was not falling into the water before that. With those thought in mind, Kamala let her arms go, turned around and started racing towards the car. Her steps were slow at first, but quickened as her body shapeshifted awkwardly into a more suitable form. Arms grew shorter but bigger. She was anticipating tearing a door apart again.
When she reached the car, Ms Marvel realized the person trapped inside was a middle-aged woman. She seemed hurt and unable to move, but was yelling very hard. Not being a great talker, Kamala just went through her plan. "Tear door apart." Five seconds later, and the car door was flying into the water. The car wobbled dangerously, making the woman cry. Kamala lengthened her arms again, ready to rebalance the car. But it didn't plunge. "Good. Now carry the woman." The proved more problematic than expected. Her leg was crushed under the driver's seat. Oh shit, oh shit. The sight didn't shock Kamala. She wanted to study medicine: a bit of blood wasn't going to scare the young woman. But it did throw in a wrench into her carefully crafted plan.
"Calm down. Calm down." Kamala couldn't concentrate with the woman whining and yelling. "I'm going to tear the front door like I did for yours." This was more for herself than the victim, but it seemed to calm the woman down. "Then blast that front seat." Kamala just realized at that moment he hadn't responded to Iron Fist's call. Was he ok? Did he need help? One problem at a time. She could just hope the fire was under control and do her job. The superhero didn't notice when a tongue of fire now went over to the tethering car. "Once I blast the front seat, I can carry you out." Kamala finished her plan triumphantly, looking up at the woman for approval. She met eyes of pure fear, looking right in front. Following the woman's index finger, Ms Marvel turned her head right before the front of the car exploded.
Seconds later, and Kamala found herself underwater. Around her were debris of the car. What? The car! The woman! Looking around, she tried to recognize parts of the car, to get a feeling for where the woman in the backseat fell. Light from above percolated, making the underwater world and eery play between the illuminated water and the strong shadows cast by the debris. But half a minute later, and she saw the woman -unconscious- dropping through the water. She was still attached to her seat, but her crushed leg was now free. Gogogogo. Supersizing her limbs, she kicked and pulled ahead, trying to catch up to the woman. She reached the victim almost at the bed of water this was. Can I swim back up? The seat was heavy. If she shapeshifted, her swim speed would decrease. Wait. She didn't need to swim up.
Moments later, two giant hands pushed the victim out of the water. Ms Marvel's head appeared a few seconds later. She collapsed onto the edge of the water, her head crashing against the hard pavement while her fleshy hands provided some buffer for the woman. "Is she... still breathing?" She couldn't feel a thing from her cold, numb and giant hands. Her own lungs were screaming for air, mostly because the measly supply she had before falling into the water was completely inadequate for super-sized Ms Marvel. Downsizing again, she scrambled up onto the shore, rushing towards the woman. "First aid! First aid!" The woman was maybe still alive, but she wasn't breathing. And for all her dreams of becoming a doctor, Kamala had always avoided first aid classes. She felt silly for avoiding them because of the 'kissing' part. "Anyone?"

1057 MS MARVEL CPR FTW
THE KEY TO IMMORTALITY IS FIRST LIVING A LIFE WORTH REMEMBERING
Even with all the determination in the world, nothing could have stopped the fear fill pause in the green clad hero’s steps when he heard the second explosion. He could feel the rocks of the nearby river edge crumble, vibrations traveling across the earth and up through his frozen feet. Everything around him seemed to slow, and silence fell as if the explosion had blown his ear drums. The only thing that reached his ears was the sound of his heart pounding against his chest, and the telltale splash of the car entering the water in what sounded like more than just one piece. Had a pile of of cars really been what took down a well-known hero? Every day as defenders of earth they fought world destroying monsters, but this..could this really be the night one of the avengers was snuffed out of existence. No, there was still hope, he had no reason to think Ms.Marvel couldn’t handle the car or the explosion. Heck for all he knew she had already pulled the car up and saved the civilian before the vehicle plunged into the cool depths of the river outlet below.
A soft breeze pulled off of the ocean and served to push the smoke away from the river’s edge and push it back onto the city. Danny had no time to thank his lucky stars as he reached the crumbling banks and looked down onto the water with only a moderately obstructed view. He had to rub the smoke and ash away from his eyes still, but as he did he noticed something. While the car was nowhere to be seen, two figures had made it to the shore line not too far up from the vehicles entry point. Ms.Marvel, even with her soaked and singed suit was unmistakable, she was alive and from what could be seen there was even a potential survivor down on the wet river bank with her.
Danny only had seconds to let a smile touch his lips before the, in his world anyway, seasoned Avenger began to call out for first aid. Was that not a key part of training? The panic in her voice seemed so out of place on those lips, but there was no time to think deeper into that subject. He needed to get down to them and fast. However they were at the tip of a very long river bank, the stairs to which were a good 5 minute jog away, which meant another getting back down. Ten minutes was not a long time but his lungs were heavily damaged from the smoke, and even if he made it this woman was not about to go 10 minutes without oxygen. Looking to the water below and coughing hard he settled on the only answer. Standing as the cold wind provided him with at the least a good breath of air, he used all the force he could muster from his legs to propel himself away from the crumbling retaining wall and out into the water. The dive was less than perfect, but the cold of the water gave a boost of energy to his cooked skin, and while it was hard to catch his breath after he surfaced, it was smoke free at the water’s surface far below the cars. Swimming hard he made it to the shore in under a minute and unlike his companion, he crawled onto the shore in a lot better condition.
“Ms.Marvel!” he exclaimed though is vocals were horas, and his eyes still burned as he tried to focus them on her. Getting to his feet wasn’t as easy as he would like to think it should have been. His body was taxed from the low doses of oxygen, and the grime and toxins in the air he had pulled in was still eating away at him from the inside out. He only had his training to fall back on, to push through everything until you physically collapsed, and never to think of death and fear it. Ignoring the groan of his muscles and joints he brought himself to where the two woman were ‘safe’ on the rocky rivers edge and quickly took to his knees next to the unconscious woman. He did not want to undermine anyone, but it would seem that the blond heroine before him was not comfortable or capable of providing what the injured woman between them needed. So without hesitation, even if he was not a professional, he tilted the woman’s head back to check for breathing. Nothing. Putting his hands together, left on top of the right he placed them over the woman diaphragm and began to press in bursts to initiate CPR. Next, after a counted round of an attempted evacuation and reset of the breathing pattern he pinched the mid aged woman’s nose and keeping her head tilted back to open the air ways he pressed his lips over hers using what little lung power he had to force air into her body. After this he restarted the chest compressions and looked up at Ms.Marvel. “Are you alright?” He asked before ducking back in to offer more air and try to get the woman to breathe again. Another round of mouth to mouth followed by chest compressions seemed to do the trick. Water spurted out of the woman’s lungs, tipping her gently onto her side Danny helped her release the water without swallowing it again and soon a regular breathing pattern returned. Hoarse and rough as it was, at least the injured lady would have the air needed to keep her alive.
Danny let his shoulders sag as his masked eyes made it back to Ms.Marvel’s and he offered her a smile. There was no judging, no accusations that she should have been able to do this. What mattered to him was that they were both alright, and that his partner that night had managed to save her from what would have been a watery grave. Not only that, but kept herself alive as well. “You up for a long walk along the beach?” he offered with a bit of a smile knowing they would still have to get this woman back up to the paramedics in case there were further injuries other than her leg to be concerned about.

Kamala rushed to the woman's side, her eyes filled with panic. The hero's hand pressed against the victim's chest. A heartbeat. But she didn't breath. "Help!" She yelled, turning her head. Out of the corner of the eye, Ms Marvel spotted a shape. A shape rushing through the water like a torpedo. What? This wasn't another person drowning. Someone was swimming really fast towards the two distressed women. Only when the dolphin-like swimmer stepped out of the water did Kamala recognize him. "Iron Fist!" She felt relief. Surely the hero clad in green knew his first aid. Ms Marvel stood up, making sure to grab the young man's attention. Her focus was on the victim, and she needed to be helped fast. "Here!"
The other hero ran to the woman's side. Ms Marvel just stepped back. Guilt returned as she saw the man perform all too familiar actions. Actions she'd seen others do on TV, but which she couldn't remember on the spot. His hands seemed exactly to know where to go, how much pressure to exert and what to do. There was a twinge of jealousy. Kamala tried to commit to memory Iron Fist's CPR, from the chest compressions to the 'kissing' part. "Is she going to be ok?" The young woman was mindful to ask only after the other hero had paused. She didn't want to interrupt someone busy saving a person's life.
Kamala was greeted with a tired smile. She wasn't sure how to respond. This had been her biggest hero adventure to date. The young hero didn't feel like she had lived up to her borrowed name. Her concern lay pre-dominantly with the victim, the one she couldn't save by herself. I hope the boy is ok too. That's when the young man's question registered in her brain. "Er. Sure." Kamala beefed up her arms a bit, then went down to gently scoop the woman from the ground. She had to tilt her body a bit more than expected, but shifting her weight around -both in the normal and the superpowered way- she managed to carry the woman in a very gentle fashion. "Has 911 arrived?" Ms Marvel was craning her neck for the closest ambulance. "Oh, and are you ok?"

THE KEY TO IMMORTALITY IS FIRST LIVING A LIFE WORTH REMEMBERING
Danny didn’t know for sure if breathing would be enough to completely assure this woman’s survival, but it certainly helped. Also, not being in a car under water was one hell of a step in the right direction. So when asked if she was going to be okay Danny nodded his head. He didn’t physically say yes, but the action was a close as he was willing to get to betting that she would be. “Thanks to you she has a hell of a fighting chance..”. His vision was finally clearing a bit and adjusting to the dark setting down here on the river bank. The low stone retaining wall behind him was enough to pull cast a shadow over the majority of the ground under them.
While Kamala adjusted herself to carry the woman, Danny found himself in another coughing fit. His lungs felt more and more like sacks of needles with ever hard force of air. His throat still burned but the clean and cool night air was finally starting to sooth his breath and after a moment he recovered. Getting to his feet he was impressed to see the middle aged women held so confidently bye the heroine. He had it in his mind that he would have been the one to do the heavy lifting, but was not complaining to see Ms. Marvel take the lead. He could feel his muscles want to shake from the oxygen deprivation and strain, anymore and there might have been damage.
He kept pace with the woman whom looked to be older and more experienced, a blond icon of heroics. This had to be another team up for the ‘awesome’ files, but something still just didn’t seem to fit. Her powers were not just different from what he expected, but her entire style and attitude seemed off. Had his impressions of his own world’s version of her really been so far shot? Maybe it was common for people of different worlds to possess completely unique skill sets. His mind wandered for a moment, wondering how different he could be. Maybe he was even power less? It was possible that in other worlds he never went on that adventure with his parents, never been orphaned and found at the gates of Kun-lun to be raised by its residents. Would have have been a completely different person not only physically but personality wise? It bothered him to think of how easy it would be to wind up another stark type billionaire. No offense meant.
As they reached the access from rivers edge to road side he heard another question posed and his focus returned to the situation at hand. “Yes, they should already be on scene” he offered knowing that the sirens had only been moments away when he jumped into the cold water. Sure enough, emergency vehicles were scattered around the scene. Fire trucks already putting out the remaining flames and hordes of police cars and ambulances were tending to those whom they had helped away from the burning wreckage. The real heroes were here in full force and Daniel had to smile.
“Oh, and are you ok?” Looking to Kamala Danny held up a finger wagging it as if she was not allowed to ask just yet. “I believe I asked you first” his tone held that wisdom breath to it, but at the same time a childish snicker was hidden among the words. He had indeed asked her back on the beach and never been answered. Granted the situation was not ideal for chit chat, but they had the time now and it was still a concern of his. His expectations of getting an honest answer were low though, most hero types were not big on admitting injury. Even he often down played the severity of an injury to avoid worry. Asking was just par for the course, and if there was something wrong he did want to at least have a hint of its presence.

"Thanks to you she has a hell of a fighting chance." Ms Marvel smiled. "Let's make sure to bring her to the ambulance as fast as possible then." She didn't want to waste the man's efforts. With the woman safely craddled in her super-sized arms, Kamala moved forward when she spotted a medic. Beside her, Iron Fist started coughing. "No really, are you ok?" Her own throat was irritated, but most of the damage the heroine had subsisted was during the explosion. It wouldn't be the first time that Kamala went back home with bruises and cuts.
"I believe I asked you first." Had Kamala simply ignored his question? There was a lot going on, with a woman to save and panic everywhere. "Oh, I'm fine." She felt like that wasn't good enough of a response. What would she write in a fanfic? "I'm Ms Marvel." Cheesy. Just her style. The duo reached the ambulance moments later. Police and other officials rushed to their side. A pair of young men took over the hurt woman from Ms Marvel. "Thanks." One of them said. His colleague was busy checking the woman's vitals. Then he pulled out a seringue and injected it in the unconscious woman. "She'll be alright. We can bring her to the hospital now." Kamala sighed in relief.
But that lapse of rest was brief. Reporters started rushing past the overwhelmed policemen. Ms Marvel and Iron Fist were quickly surrounded. It's fine. The police have more important things to deal with than papparazzis. And eventually she would have to learn to fend them off herself. Rigth now though, Kamala felt like just running away.
"How did you know tehe accident was going to happen?" "What are those new powers, Ms Marvel?" "Iron Fist, since when do you and Ms Marvel work together?" "Iron Fist, do you have any plans to visit the Stark tower? People want to know what the heroes are planning about the New York bubble!" Kamala tried to shuffle past. She was not in her element. "Let me pass. I have to go." Could she fake an emergency with the Avengers? Would she be able to pull that one off?

838 MS MARVEL Where to go from here?
THE KEY TO IMMORTALITY IS FIRST LIVING A LIFE WORTH REMEMBERING
Danny knew he just needed to get away from the smoke and fumes, he could feel the clouds of sick black air still burning as it swirled in his lungs with every breath. It took all his focus just to keep from a coughing fit that would in itself starve him of oxygen. As Ms.Marvel check with him once more he could only offer her a smile to reassure the heroine that he was indeed alright for the moment. His skin felt cooked, and parts showed signs of first degree burns and possibly worse, but Danny had very few scars on his body aside from the mark of Shao Lao on his chest. The focus of his chi not only powered the might of his Iron Fists, but it balanced him as a whole and made healing far less of a chore. With a solid meditation and good nights rest he would be back to fighting crime by the next night fall.
When Kamala finally answered his question, still sporting the tall blond features of the iconic Ms.Marvel, he was not entirely convinced that she was fine. Sure he had his own white lie but he still questioned the truth behind her identity. Had she really been Ms.Marvel, he doubted a car wreck could really scath her, but the woman before him could very well be in just as bad of shape as he was, without the ability to speed up the healing. Danny wasn’t in any condition to grill her for accurate information though, any words might send his body into a fit of coughs to purge him of the smoke searing at the back of his throat. Tonight it would just have to be good enough that they saved lives and got out with their own. Interrogations could come later when he earned the trust he would need to gain the truth.
Danny was pleased to see the woman they had saved in the hands of the real professionals. Hero he may be, but CPR was really the only thing he had that was worth anything when it came to keeping some one alive. The EMTs were the next step in heroics, trained professionals that were the real ones keeping people alive that night. “Thank you” he managed to croak out with a smile as he waved off an offer to be looked over “I’ll be fine” he explained wanting attention to go to the civilians first. They didn’t have years of training, they needed attention.
Attention, it would see, would still make it their way. It just happened to be in the form of a reporter mob. Danny sighed, lesson one in the his S.H.E.I.L.D training was avoid the press as much as possible. They had people to handle that. Danny had seen the words of many heroes twisted, warped by the publics desire to either lift them up on a golden pedestal ignoring the work of everyone else…or bring them down like dogs to try and show the world they were nothing to be idolized. There was never a middle ground, no one came up asking their opinion. Even if it was given, it was so easy to edit everything to say what the news wanted to air, or for what the public wanted to hear.
The questions came like punches, fast and hard. Each only emphasized by the energy that flowed in the sea of boddies trying to push their way to the front lines. Elbows found ribs, toes were stepped on, mics thrust out in a desperate attempt to get that story, to achieve the one line that would keep their networks or tabloids happy. Looking to Ms.Marvel he could see she was on the move trying to escape the swarm of bodies. “If you want to know what the Avengers plan to do..than ask the Avengers. I am not a voice for anyone other than myself. Stark, I am sure, has his own list of concerns. So for now the plan is to do as has always been done. Defend the city, defend its citizens, and help until there is a break through on how to get everyone home.” Following Ms. Marvel he elected not to answer the initial questions. He doubted in this frenzy of people that anyone had even cared to notice he was a foot shorter and dressed in his ‘older’ attire compared to the Daniel Rand of this universe. Being a trained martial artist had more than combat perks, moving among crowds was far simpler when you could feel and watch motion around you, anticipating and maneuvering through each gesture like a well-rehearsed dancer. Once near the edge of the sea it would be simple to go where they couldn’t follow. Any fire escape or building made for an escape, but he didn’t want to lose site of Ms.Marvel, not yet. Coughing again after his speaking his chest burned but he still made ground with the mob and soon broke free eyes instantly scanning for Kamala. “Ms.Marvel?”

Ms Marvel elbowed her way through the crowd of media men and women. The questions just wouldn't stop, and there was an angst building up in her. She didn't know any of the answers to these questions. Are heroes supposed to know all that? Would they realize she was a fake if she didn't respond? "There is another emergency I have to rush to!" But rather than placate the crowd, the announcement just made them frenzy. At some point, Kamala just sprinted away, disappearing quickly into a fire escape and onto a roof top again. She paused there for a moment, trying to catch her breath.
"I didn't sign up for this." She spoke softly. The blonde woman was looking down upon the scene. There was still smoke where the cars had piled up, but no human was left inside. Firefighters were busy clearing the way from outside and ambulances were starting to shuttle people away. The media people seemed to still be looking for the heroes. Kamala was tempted to change back to her normal self and just disappear into the crowds. But a voice behind her made the heroine jump. Turning around, she recognized Iron Fist. "Oh." She really had to be more careful about when to turn back into Kamala Khan. "It's you." A half-smile etched itself. It was much better than media, but still not what Kamala had wished for. She needed peace and quiet at this point.
But heroes had to be social too. "Thanks, by the way." She did owe the young man. "You did great." Kamala wasn't sure what more to say, so an awkward silence followed. Her hands disappeared behind her back. A gust of wind made the woman shiver for a moment. She really ought to re-design that costume. The belt floating in the air was a potential hazard. But that would have to wait. "Are we still good for going to the Avengers tower?" It would be nice to have at least one familiar face, maybe even someone she could call an ally, before facing the world-renown crime fighters.

323 MS MARVEL Think if we want we can wind it up in a post or two.
THE KEY TO IMMORTALITY IS FIRST LIVING A LIFE WORTH REMEMBERING
Danny could almost feel the tension in the young heroine’s frame. While he couldn’t really see it, the aura he sensed around her was muddied and felt a bit lost. He didn’t want to push his limits, or interrupt anything, he was only just concerned for her. Keeping a distance between them in hopes easing any tension. She seemed so surprised that he would have followed her, everything pointing him to believe that this was somehow a fist time for her. She didn’t appear much younger than the Ms.Marvel he had seen from his world but, as had been said, there was no way he could tell her experience based on that alone.
“You as well..” Danny bowed to her in return to the ‘job well done’ lines. Once straightened up she bought up the Avengers tower and the blond teen smiled. “Of course. Though..” he looked down at his communicator with a sigh. “..Contacting one another may be difficult.” He didn’t even have a phone yet, which to be honest he wasn’t even sure would work if had it. Without direct lines of communication how was one to even organize a team let alone assemble them. Sure Stark probably had that all figured out but without getting a hold of him first, everyone was in the dark.
Danny mulled over the offer for a moment before he cleared another cough from his chest. He didn’t usually even consider this but times were desperate and he had seen that she was far from evil, or anything along those lines. “I don’t have a number to give you..but..if you would like I have an address.” Yes this meant he may have to reveal his identity, but instead of just straight out saying my name Is danny you can find me here, he placed the offer of a residence out to wait for her approval or denial of the thought before actually offering a name.
