you'll drink yourself to death
Look who makes there own bed
Days, weeks, months. What did it matter? Thats how he was dealing, people had tried to change it, to change him. They told him he was being reckless, he was being stupid. But alcohol numbed it all, to the point where he was sure he could function if he really did try to. AA was for losers and he wasnt a loser, he was a winner. He had saved the world so many times even he was losing track of them all. These where the thoughts that had lead him to where he was now, in his home away from home. The garage was out fitted with all of the toys and the gear of back home. Only now he didnt care what got broken, he could fix it all any ways. J.A.R.V.I.S was his only friend in the cave he had built for himself, well except for dumb dumb. The room smelt like a mini bar, there where glasses everywhere and left plates of food that he had gotten but never touched. He was losing control on what was losing control on what was real and what mattered. Tony slammed the glass onto the table before him, the liquid that had been in it was now long gone. It now swished around with the other fluids in his stomach. There was a point where he stopped getting sick during hte act of drinking and now it was more of an after effect. So he had learnt to just keep going, day, night and morning. Why stop? It just made you start all over again. Well, that was his logic any ways. "Sir, perhaps you should sleep? It seems that you have been awake for three days, give or take when you pass out from the alcohol."Both hands planted on either side of the glass Tony's blue hues studied it. "Thats not so bad, the record is four and a half." He told the mechanical voice who used to be the one to pull him back from the edge, but it seemed these days it was getting harder for the voice to do. "I don't think you should boast about that."Tony let out a snort from his nose as he left the table and the empty glass behind. His steps where staggered and uneven as he walked over to the bench with the new suit he was creating. his arm went out clumsily as he slid his hand into one of the forearms and hands. Tony inspected it, the part of his suit was instantly running off of the arch reactor in his chest. A new improvement, always working forward and to a brighter future, or a better suit. Tony held out his arm, unevenly he held it towards dumb dumb. "Throw something."The mechanical arm moved towards the desk, Tony shifted his weight to the left. Closing one eye and trying to aim at what ever the stupid thing decided to throw. A plate was in it's hand, "sir. I dont think this is a very good idea." Ignoring J.A.R.V.I.S's voice he nodded towards the mechanical arm. The plate flew up and towards him. Bringing the blaster located on his palm up he fired it at the plate, the ceramic shattered into pieces. The fragments of glass hitting him as well as the table tops and other objects. A little bit too trigger happy two blots left his hand, the sound of a car alarm filled the room as he red mustang caught fire. Dumb dumb had the fire extinguisher at the ready, but it wasnt aiming it at the car wgich was now on fire but rather at him. "No! Don't you dare!." He brought up both hands in defence as the white substance filled the air around him, knocking him backwards and tripping over a tool box. Hitting the floor he moaned as dumb dumb stood over. "I should just shot you now." He slurred as he let his head hit the ground once again.
Hours later, cleaned up and in clothes that didnt smell like someone had been in them for days he walked. The people around him where a mystery to him. He had little idea why he hadnt done this sooner, a party for the whole city of those who wanted to show. The forearm of his suit was still on his right arm along with the light from his arch reactor shining through his thin shirt. There where two girls hanging off of him, a Candace and a Alice maybe. There was a blonde and a red head, yeah that was easier to remember. The blonde pointed to the chandelier above the entrance way to his party, bringing his arm up he fired at the glass light. The object shattered and the girls squealed with happiness at the glass that now fell like rain. The music boomed around them, it was hard to hear anything over it. But girls screams seemed to carry quite far over the crowd. o one seemed to mind the glass that fell and now crunched under there feet as they dance there way through the door way and into the great hall of his home. The alcohol was flowing and the music was blaring, tonight he could forget about everything. The Red head reached up and ran her finger down his cheek where the broken plate had cut him earlier. "A battle wound." He said in a rather serious tone to the girl as she swooned over him. Someone brought him another drink, he closed his eyes and let the drink run down his throat. It no longer tasted of anything. Outfit: HereSong: HereNotes: Tag: Lorna |

The past week since Lorna had been shot had been relatively uneventful. Well, other than the whole running into her father who wasn't her actual father but a father from an alternate dimension. It had been emotional and tumultuous and Lorna was just really angry, as usual.
Most troubling, however, was the fact that she hadn't heard from Tony since he left the hospital. Not a call, not a text, not even a sarcastic flyby with a rude comment.
And she would never, never, admit it to him, but it hurt. It shouldn't, but boy did it hurt that he hadn't communicated with her in any way, shape, or form.
Then again, what right did she have to be hurt? He didn't owe her anything. She got herself shot being stupid and drunk in his house. Lorna was just some needy kid that he probably didn't want latching onto him. He was kindish when they were in each others company, but it made sense that he would just keep his distance when he could.
Now, Lorna was just moping in the hotel room she had managed to wrangle for herself, staring at the ceiling and memorizing each of the cracks and chips. It was almost therapeutic and borderline meditative.
Bzzt. Bzzt.
Lorna rolled over with a groan, careful not to jostle her injured shoulder as she snatched up the vibrating phone.
Call From: JARVIS.
Sure, now Tony calls her. With a scoff and a roll of her eyes, Lorna dragged her thumb across the screen to answer the call.
"Y'know, Stark, I'm tired of you just calling me when it's convenient for you. Let me guess; you broke your house again?"
Her short tone was responded to with a soft and polite British one that still carried an edge of sarcasm.
"Uh, Miss Dane, I'm sorry to disappoint - and I would be more than happy to pass along the sentiment to Mr. Stark later - but I'm afraid I need your assistance. I'm worried about Mr. Stark's well being. He's... well, he needs an intervention."
"And... you called me?" Lorna was shocked and felt strangely honored.
"Actually, I attempted to contact the other Avengers, but they either didn't answer or were otherwise occupied."
"..Oh- I'll, uh, I'll be right there." Damnit Stark...
It didn't take long for Lorna to get to Stark Mansion. It took even less time for her to get angry.
Her presence was definitely felt, between the dark denim pants and the black leather jacket that in no way matched the expensive and promiscuous club dresses every other woman was wearing. That and the burning in her eyes meant no one was standing in front of her.
"Battle wound, huh? What'd you do, get in a fight with your razor?" Her voice lilted over the music, loud enough for Tony to hear but not quite loud enough to disrupt the party.
Lorna's heart dropped just slightly as she took in his appearance. The dark, heavy bags under his eyes and the wavering of his steps told her how exhausted - and probably how drunk - he was.
"We need to talk, Tony."

you'll drink yourself to death
Look who makes there own bed
The bass was moving through him, his body moving with it, the girls at his side glaring at others who tried to take there place beside him. This is what he needed, this is where he wanted to be. He allowed his eyes to close for a moment and jsut enjoy how he felt. "Battle wound, huh? What'd you do, get in a fight with your razor?"Hues lazily opened to the sound of a voice he knew. Blue hues moved across the crowd of well dressed people as the girl with green hair moved through his guests and towards him. Lorna looked fine, she had been shot just a week ago. Or was it two weeks? Maybe he would ask her. The girl with the red hair also looked towards her, her eyes like knives as her hand went protectively to his chest, as if to guard what was hers. "Lo-rna!" He said with a sly smile on his face. His hands left the girls hips as he spread his arms wide in a greeting of sorts. One hand still covered in armour. "We need a drink for my fr-iend here pe-ople!" Tony exclaimed to the servers who where weaving there way in and out of the crowd with ease. A well dressed man came to stand beside Lorna as he offered her a drink. "No, we dont need to talk." He told her as he smiled to the two on his arms, "I am not under attack and I am feeling gr-eat!" He grabbed a glass off of the tray between him and Lorna and took a swig. "Stay a while, drink." He lifted a brow to her and smiled broad. "I know you like to drink, join me! Join everyone!" The last word came out as a yell as the two girl on his arm let out a cheer. People moved around there small party of people, dancing and singing. The dj had everyone moving, Tony swayed to the beat as he lifted the glass to his lips again. "I am off duty tonight kid, if you want to join fine. But if the worlds in trouble it will have to wait." Somewhere in his mind he knew she could be in trouble and need help, if she did he didnt want to blow her off. Outfit: HereSong: HereNotes: Tag: Lorna |

Lorna looked at the waiter who stood next to her and obediently offered her a drink, not moving to take a glass. As tempting as it was - oh so tempting - her getting drunk in a group full of civilians was a terrible idea. Plus, she had come here to help Tony, not party it up with him. "No, thank you."
"I know you like to drink!"
Eyes narrowed as she clenched her fist at him, already getting annoyed. "Keep it up and you will be under attack, Stark." Her eyes met the red head who was clinging to Tony's chest like if she let go he'd float away forever.
"I am off duty tonight kid, if you want to join fine. But if the worlds in trouble it will have to wait."
"It's not the world that's in trouble, Tony. It's you." She let the words sit there for a moment as she closed the space between him, looking straight into his eyes. "Don't try and dick me around. Let's just--"
The red head finally pulled together enough words to form a coherent sentence, interrupting Lorna with a "Hey, if he doesn't wanna go, he doesn't wanna go! So take your bad dye job and get outta here. The jilted ex act isn't cute."
Lorna sighed, annoyed, before turning her attention back to the red head. "Jilted ex? My claim to fame is so much more than that. If you're lucky you'll end up being another one of his one night stands whose name he can't remember. So why don't you take your bad dye job and get out of here. Because the desperate act is even less cute."
The red head stamped her foot before grabbing her blonde friend and storming off, muttering something about the crazy green haired bitch before Lorna looked back at Tony.
"I brought my ass all the way out here to check on you. You are not going to shrug me off and dry to booze me up, Tony. The hell is wrong with you!?" Her voice began to rise over the clamor of the music, though still did little to nothing to dampen the mood.
Lorna was giving him as many chances as she could to make the right choice before she took the choice completely out of his hands.

you'll drink yourself to death
Look who makes there own bed
"It's not the world that's in trouble, Tony. It's you."Tony opened his eyes and lowered the glass he had been drinking from. He looked around as if asking the people around him if he was in trouble. No one paid any attention to him or the conversation with the leather jacket wearing girl. He looked back to Lorna, his shoulders rose and fell. "Not to my knowledge.""Don't try and dick me around. Let's just--"Lorna closed the space between them, she was before him now. The two girls where clinging closer to him, Tony shifted his weight slight back as she spoke. He wasn't sure why the metal welding girl was so mad at him all of a sudden. The red head spoke for him, Tony look interestedly down at her as she glared down his friend. Tony had learnt in his younger years to shut up when there was a cat fight, to sit back and just watch it play out. He found if men tried to get in the middle of it then they would just be hurt in the cross fire. Lorna's words seemed to hit home for the red head because she grabbed the perky blonde and his drink. She muttered as she weaved her way back into the party. The sea of bodies seemed to swallow the two up, it would be easy to get another girl at his side. But he would have to ditch or clam down Lorna first. Lorna was looking back at him. "There you have me a-l-l to your self ag-ain kid." He mused as looked for another drink. "I brought my ass all the way out here to check on you. You are not going to shrug me off and dry to booze me up, Tony. The hell is wrong with you!?"Tony was even more confused. "I thought you where here to party, I dont need to be check-ed up on." Even being this close to her he had to yell over the pounding of the music that rang out through the room. The space around the two had filled in with people, there was only the space between them. People where unafraid to bump into him but they seemed to avoid doing the same to Lorna. "Nothing wrong with me, I just wanted to throw a spur of the mom-ent party."She was ruining his buzz, he tried to ignore her words and focus on how he was feeling. Float less, weightless but most of all he felt good. The bags under his eyes and the slightly sunken cheeks where easy for him to ignore. He looked to the other once more, "just have a good time! Don't worry! There is too much to worry about kid!" He didnt want to be brought down he didnt want to remember or even think. "I am fine kid!" Outfit: HereSong: HereNotes: Tag: Lorna |

"I'm not your kid, so stop calling me that." She was getting annoyed at his uncooperative behavior. "And if anyone is being a kid, it's you." Lorna pointed him with a hard glare as he explained how he just wanted to party. Part of her felt incredibly hypocritical for even preaching to him about binge drinking, but if JARVIS had felt the need to call her, well, then it had to be serious, right?
Realizing that he wasn't going to end the party on his own, Lorna walked away from him and towards the DJ who was annoyingly playing Top 50s mixed with house music. With relative ease she was able to get the microphone away from him and spoke clearly into the quiet speakers.
"Party is over. Everyone go home."
Drunk people just stood around, glaring at her with confusion, before going back to their drinks and conversation.
"I said," she lifted up the turntables with her powers before crushing them easily, "go home." People scurried from the home, some faster than others, leaving Lorna alone with a drunk and agitated Tony Stark.
Now having his undivided attention, Lorna walked back towards him with determination. "Now it's just you and me, Stark, so cut the crap and tell me why the hell you're drinking your life away and hanging out with a couple of bimbos who couldn't hold a candle to your actual girlfriend - I can't remember her name."
Lorna had heard a lot of things about Tony: he was selfish, arrogant, pig headed, shallow, childish, and an ass hole. Pretty much all of it had been true, but he had some redeeming qualities. He just wasn't really displaying them in this moment.
Most importantly, Lorna was actually worried about him.

kid, he was no longer allowed to call her that. It felt slightly odd and saddening not being able to call her that now, it was so much better them Magnita well at least it was in his mind. But if she didnt want to be called kid, he could get down with that. He gave her a shrug, the glass in his hand now empty he released the pressure on his hand and allowed the glass to fall to the floor and shatter. It joined with the the chandelier he had already shot down that night. "F-ine." He said to her, if this was the end of it he would be happy, he wasnt looking for a talk. He wasnt asking for one either, well he wasnt trying to but in some ways he was. So now he stood there, slightly swaying from side to side on his feet, the weight moving. But she stood still staring at him for a moment more before she turned away from him and towards the dj. "Finally!" He droned out under the beat of the music as she made her way to the main stage, she was joining in and letting him have a night. To be drunk and to be numb. "Party is over. Everyone go home."All eyes went to the green haired girl who had snatched up the microphone from the stage. She held it up and spoke into it, it was loud enough to resonate over the tone that the Dj was throwing out. But no one seemed to want to believe the words that they heard, himself included. All eyes went from her to him, where he just stoo there. No one moved as mutters of protest and talk ran through the crowd of people. Lorna didnt like the reaction she was getting, she she made sure that her message was being sent loud and clear. "I said." There was a slight pause to her words as the sound of the music quit and the Dj let out a yelp of surprise. The turn tables he had been using for music lifted and twisted in the air before his wide eyes. All eyes where back to her and the silence of the crowd told Tony that Lorna now had all of the attention she wanted. "Go home". People began to shuffle towards the doors of the house. Tony was there in the middle of the sea of people, shoulders bumped into his as people fled the scene. Tony had a sour look on his face to say the least as he lifted his hands into the air and began to clap. "Thank you Lorna! A party pooper as always. Love it when your around." None of the people around him seemed to find his words funny, some glanced at the girl with venom in there eyes. Tony just stood there with his arms open as if to welcome the change. But in truth he was disappointed, he wanted the numbness to stay and life to go away. It took what seemed like forever for the people to clear out, staff, drunks and Dj included. There was no one left in the room except for Lorna and Tony. Broken glasses lay on the floor in places like doorways. People had tossed the glasses away as they left. Tony allowed his hues to wander over the materials left behind there where even a few articles of clothing around the room. Then he was looking at Lorna again, she was there before him. She looked very unimpressed. "Now it's just you and me, Stark, so cut the crap and tell me why the hell you're drinking your life away and hanging out with a couple of bimbos who couldn't hold a candle to your actual girlfriend - I can't remember her name."Pepper, Tony looked away from the green haired girl. That numbness he had felt was starting to go away, and he hated her for it. He had made himself a one girl man. That was unheard of for him Tony Stark. But he had done it, for Pepper Pots. The woman who had stolen his heart and kept him from trouble, laughed with him and worried for him. She was the one person to see past the awful person he had been and stayed with him while he saved the world. The girls with him tonight where nothing but a distraction, the wrong kind. But it was so easy to revert back to his old ways. "Pepper." He muttered her name, she felt so far away from him. Like a dream he had one afternoon. Blue hues looked to the green girl before him, she was so like him but she was also like Pepper. Pepper had been there before to shut him down and save him. Now she was here, to help him, to help him get over what had happened to him. "Didn't you here? The party's over Lo-rna, some cr-azy chick came in here and shut the place down. You heard her, go home."Tony said as he turned away from her and started to walk towards the bar on the far side of the room. He wanted another drink, he wanted to forget about Pepper and about the life he had left behind. No one under stood what he was going through, hell. He didnt even understand what he was going through, or trying to deal with. Worm holes?
Thanos?
Aliens?
Losing all his suits?
Losing Pepper?
Not being able to get home? This was when it all set in, the heavy breathing, the panic. Deep in his chest, a tight and twisting pain. Tony's hands went up to the sides of his head as his pace slowed. Standing there with his heart racing and his heart pounding, Tony felt his knees give way as he huffed breath in and out, feeling light headed and panicked. Miss Lorna, Tony seems to be experiencing a panic attack. J.A.V.I.S's voice rang out in the now quite room. How'd you get out of the worm hole Tony? There was no one there but he heard the voice loud and clear, closing his eyes tight he tried to ignore it. Outfit: HereSong: HereNotes: Tag: Lorna |
