Molly followed the boy at a slow amble. It was the walk of a person who was so tired that if they tried to stop they wouldn't be able to get back up again until they'd had a few hours of sleep. When he said he'd be her friend Molly gave him a bright smile. Cool hats were definitely their thing. They'd make the best hat club ever and be co-presidents! What kind of a cool name would you give a cool hat club? Cool Kids in Hats? The Hat Club? Then she realized she didn't know his name. "I'm a bad friend," she said frowning. "What's your name? Mine's Molly. But when I'm a superhero my codename is Princess Powerful. Even though Chase always calls me Bruiser. He's a stupid-head. I think it's a teenager thing. I hope I don't become stupid when I'm a teenager."When Loki told her about how the teenagers had been trying to steal his circlet the little girl frowned. Stealing hats was not cool! Her frown only deepened when he mentioned Asgard. She had just finished learning about the fifty states of America and she couldn't remember Asgard being one of them. Maybe he was from some mystical place far away like Canada."You're not from America," she said candidly. "I learned all about the states in school this year. We had a song and everything. Assguard would be in the front of the song-" and of course she started singing it. "Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut~!" she cut off once she realized she'd left the A list. "Are you from Canada? Or someplace cool like Australia?" obviously she had no idea that he was an alien like her friend Karolina.

Walking slowly, so as not to loose the girl, the trickster couldn't help but noticed how tired she was. He knew he could always carry her if it got too much(or at least try to - his biology did give him some strength but he did not know whether the girl's added strength came with an addition to her body weight like his) but he would rather they both walked. It wasn't good to draw attention to oneself. Especially not for someone in his position. Already there were too many people ready to hate him as soon as they realised who he was. And for it, they would be considered doing the world a favour. There really were no good Loki friendly places.
At her introduction, Loki thought quickly. He still didn't want to give out his actual name. Despite this girl's apparent ignorance of some things, he feared that she would be too ready to turn against him - even in her apparent weakened state. "Lucas, call my Lucas for now and perhaps I will give you another name once we get you tucked into a cosy, warm bed with maybe a mug of liquid chocolate," He suggested. If he could get her to safety and keep her happy, then maybe giving his name as Loki at the end would be useful. No doubt she would be happy and less likely to attack him and he might also get some goodness added to his name for that. Or more likely everyone would assume there was some evil motive behind it.
Walking onwards, his eyes scanned the buildings around them, looking for any signs of a hotel that he could get Molly into. He'd have to be clever about it as well and choose one that would look after an exhausted girl for the night. Although finding a hotel was going to be the main task. And before she collapsed into sleep. Looking over at her as she said that he was not from America, the boy gave a little chuckle. It seemed that she did not know of Asgard, so perhaps she knew little of the name Loki. Which would be rather nice. Maybe he could keep this friend. For a little bit at least.
"Asgard's a little further than Australia. It's another realm. America, Australia, Canada, the earth as a whole, is a realm as well. One which we call Midgard, which means The Middle's Strong Hold. Asgard means Strong Hold of the Aesir." He said, showing off a little. He couldn't resist it. Of course, eh neglected to inform her of the time that Asgard had been brought crashing to Midgard and they had all lived there. No point complicating this. Keep things simple, it was the first rule of lying and a rather good one to have in general life. Apart for one's schemes. Those had to be very clever and difficult to follow to prevent others knowing the truth.

Molly had no idea what he meant by liquid chocolate, but it sounded like the best thing ever so she wasn't about to complain. A bed sounded really nice too. Though, she'd be content to sleep just about anywhere that was safe right now. She followed along behind Lucas, totally trusting him to take her someplace she could sleep in safety. The second name thing didn't seem at all odd to Molly. After all, she had a number of codenames, as well as a first and last name.It felt like she had been walking forever. New York was a really big city, and it didn't help that all the streets looked the same to a lost eleven year old. She considered herself super lucky that she had run into Lucas, who seemed to know where he was going, and that he was her friend now.Speaking of Lucas, he was talking about weird things. Molly's tired brain tried to understand. "Realm?" she echoed. Was that like a state? Or like a country? Her brow wrinkled in confusion and she reached up a hand to tug on one of the ears of her hat. "Is Assguard in the antarctic?" the little girl asked, vaguely remembering her world map. The antarctic was farther then Australia. Penguins lived there, which was cool. Maybe Lucas had a pet penguin! She didn't even question that logic dictated a farm in those kinds of conditions wasn't exactly feasible. "Whassan Ayyyzeer?" the little girl asked. Lucas was obvious really smart. She bet he was in the sixth grade. "Is it a kind of penguin?"

The important part to finding a hotel lay in getting to the main road, Loki decided as he continued to lead the way. After all, most of the buildings around them were just houses with the occasional shop. It was no place for a hotel. Still, he had a duty to do and he led Molly forwards without any problem, hood over his head now to keep him from being recognised by anyone else. That would get her to question him. After all, if everyone decided to attack him because he was Loki, she would surely catch on with the situation. And that was not something that the child wanted.
As she said realm, Loki realised that the child probably didn't even know what a realm was. How strange. Well, now was time to explain more things, the boy supposed. A realm is like a world. So this world is a realm. So the Antarctic, America, Canada, they are all part of a realm," He explained calmly, turning around a corner and looking ahead as they came to a main road which had a lot more shops around. He looked around, trying to decide which way they should go. Eventually he decided that they should head left. "We'll head left from here," He instructed, starting to change direction and looking back at Molly. He needed to make sure she didn't collapse because she did look rather tired.
"The Aesir are a group of beings who look like Midgardians... humans but live in Asgard," He explained, patiently as he walked on ahead, pausing every now and again to check that the girl was keeping up with him. "so what about you? You're in school, aren't you? Learning interesting and useful stuff?" He asked, keeping his tone light and conversational as he moved. He needed to keep her awake, especially as they were n the main street and it would draw a lot more attention now if he had to carry her. Even now, his green eyes searched the buildings on either side of them, searching for the sign of a hotel. They had to have one close by. And with owners that would be kind enough to this girl. After all, no one could expect two children to be carrying around money.

"Are you an alien?" the little girl asked after she'd frowned thinking through his explanation about what realms were. If he was from another world then that would make him an alien. And she was used to aliens that looked like normal people. After all, Karolina only went all glowy when she wasn't wearing her magic bracelet. "My friend Karolina is an alien. She glows really pretty. Do you glow too?" the child stumbled as she paid more attention to seeing if he was about to glow then where she was putting her own two feet when he told her to go left."You said you lived in Assguard," Molly was starting, or trying to put two and two together. "Are you an Ayyyzeer?" it was mildly disappointing that the Aesir were not actually penguins, but cool glowing alien people were almost as cool as penguins. But then his question distracted her. School? Who wanted to talk about school?"I used to go to school. I don't anymore," Molly explained. "I'm a runaway. Me and my friends ran away from home when they saw our parents murder this girl, and then they put her in a box, and were gunna feed her soul to these giant monsters so that they could take over the world. We stopped them, but our parents ended up exploded, so Captain America made us go into foster care, but we didn't like them, so we ran away again. It's kind of like a really big extended field trip, but instead of a school bus we ride around in a giant frog."Her story certainly sounded wild and given her state of exhaustion it was perfectly understandable if he didn't believe her. But Molly obviously believed what she was saying to be the truth. "Are we there yet?"

Chuckling slightly at Molly's question, Loki gave a small nod. "I suppose you could say that I am an alien. Although I've never thought about it like that," The boy smiled, entertaining the thought. "And you know, that would make you an alien to me," He added, shooting her a grin, amusement plain on his face. He bet many people thought it only went one way. They never considered that they themselves could be the aliens. Although to be fair, he was on her realm. But he had been on here longer than she had. Listening to the girl talk about Karolina, he gave a roll of his eyes, making sure that he was looking at her when he did this. "No glowing. Never met anyone who glows,"
Listening to the question, he gave a nod. "Yes, I am one of the Aesir," He lied. His heritage was Jotun, he knew this but he always felt that he might as well be one of them. He rarely thought of himself as anything else, after all, he didn't show much of his giant side. After all, he was rather short. Looking ahead, he sighed, eyes scanning for a hotel that he might be able to get her into.
It actually interested the boy to hear about Molly's life, although some of it seemed fair fetched but then again, he was a god and from a different realm, so he couldn't really complain. He apparently had a daughter who was older than him. A giant frog wasn't too much of a stretch. Although it seemed that her life wasn't all games and such. There seemed to be bargaining with souls (to be fair, his former self hadn't been too careful with souls). "And you enjoy the life that you now have?" He asked to keep up the conversation and to keep it away from him and his life. "I must admit riding around in a giant frog sounds fun. Where did you acquire one?" He asked, voice showing no sign of disbelief or playing around with her.
Molly asked another question and the boy sighed, looking around. He had no idea where the first hotel would be. Green eyes looked around him, trying to find something. Finally his eyes saw what looked like a Hotel not too far away. "Not long now. I think I may have found you something. I'll try and talk the Manager around to giving you a room and some liquid chocolate," He said, looking back at the girl to make sure that she was still capable of walking.

"I'm not an alien!" Molly protested, not entirely understanding what he was getting at. "I'm a mutant, but not a bad one like Magneto, a good one like Doop and the X-Statix, and when I grow up I'm gonna join the X-Men and get married to Wolverine." the child informed him very seriously. She'd obviously had this planned out for some time. "And my friend Karolina glows. Kind of like a giant glowstick. It's really pretty. I wish I could glow like she does. But I can lift cars which is almost as cool. Can you lift cars?" The little girl pursed her lips when Loki asked her about how she enjoyed this new life. Nobody had even really asked her. They'd just sort of…tried to shield her from it. Not that she knew that was what the older kids were doing. This life, it was kind of scary. Okay, it was a lot scary most of the time. She still had a lot of fun and exciting adventures, though. "Yeah…but…sometimes I miss my Mommy and Daddy," Molly confided. "And real life is scary. People die." her bright green eyes widened in the horror of that realization. Then he distracted her from the crushing grip of reality when he asked about the frog. "Leapfrog was made by Chase's parents. They're evil scientists. They made this really cool glove thing too that lets him control fire and stuff! It's too bad my parents weren't cool evil scientists. They were just bad mutants, like Magneto. And doctors." the child wrinkled her nose as though doctorness was the tell-all symbol of evilness. When he said they were almost there the little mutant gave her new friend a gigantic smile, and then realized how tiiiiiired she was. The conversation had helped to distract her, but now with the approach of someplace safe and comfy to sleep she felt her legs growing heavier with each step. She followed Lucas into the lobby and plopped down as soon as they made it inside the doorway. Molly wasn't going to move until she had to. The pout of her lips said that quite clearly before she rested her face on her knees pulled up to her chest.

Head turned to look at the girl as she protested against his words that being an alien worked both ways. He gave a soft laugh at her plans and smiled. It seemed so farfetched, to already have plans to marry a hero. Plans that would not come to fruition as far as the boy was concerned. O to be young and carefree. Days that he could not remember. "Nice to know that you've already got things all planned out. Its always good to know where you are going," Loki commented, deciding to support the childish hope. Everyone deserved to live with those beliefs for as long as possible. Growing up was no fun.
An expression of joy did not leave the boy's face as he heard about this friend, Karolina, who glowed. Fantasy or not, it was an interesting story. And this girl seemed to be well versed in car lifting from the sound of it. Loki had never tried himself. He knew he was physically stronger and fitter than humans were but that wasn't something he bothered to test. "I can't lift cars. Never given it a try if I'm to be totally honest. Looks a bit tricky. And heavy," He said, trying to get her to stay cheerful and happy. That was just how they had to be in the face of all of this.
A frown graced his brows as he heard the girl's word about how she was finding this. That she missed her parents, despite them being evil. It made the boy wonder whether he had been like those parents when he had been evil. Whether his brother had been like this child, Molly. He couldn't remember those times. But he knew her words rang true. Real life was scary. Just ask anyone. "Real life is like that. We just have to keep going. Because we can. Sometimes bad things happen but we can change that, right?" He said. He had to change the past to save everyone. And any confirmation of the fact that they could change things would be welcome. Even from someone who had no idea about all of this.
There was the talk about the frog and that went back to evil parents again and the boy shook his head with disbelief. "Don't worry about parents. They aren't as important as everyone makes them out to be, you know. Some people have more than one set and it doesn't change anything. It's our decisions on who to care for and who to strive for that shapes our lives the most. And that's all down to us," He said, somewhat kindly for the trickster.
They reached hotel and went inside. Molly sat down immediately and the boy looked at her, the picture of exhaustion. This was good. "You look perfect. Just stay like that and I'll get the hot chocolate and a room," He said, turning to get the attention of the staff. "There's a crisis going on and you're trying to get a hotel room. It's not too hard to just break in and get one in these-" "Quiet Ikol, I've got to concentrate." He told the magpie as he went up to a staff member. "I would like a room fit for a princess if you can spare it, for my friend. She has lost her parents and been wandering for days and is exhausted. I'm afraid I cannot pay, I don't have money, despite my rather eccentric appearance. You would do us a great favour, especially if you could supply us with hot chocolate and some bacon,"
It took a lot of haggling to get a bargain. But his politeness had won them over from the staff and the sweetness of the exhausted child. She would be allowed to sleep in the lobby (where the staff could keep an eye on her) and they would bring some food. Smiling, Loki thanked them and returned to the girl. "We don't have a room but they are going to bring some food over and you can sleep on those nice looking sofas. And the staff here have agreed to keep on eye on you. If your lucky, we may be able to get you a place to stay until all this is sorted out," He told her, offering a hand to help her get up and move to the sofa.

Molly didn't know what Lucas was talking with the staff people about, but when she opened her eyes enough to glance over she was met with a few sympathetic glances. Which made sense. Molly was pretty pathetic curled up on the floor and half asleep. She dozed lightly, her head jerking slightly whenever it leaned too far off balance, and she blinked awake when Lucas was in front of her again. She reached up to accept his hand, getting to her feet and following him over to the sofa before plopping down like a rock. "You're the best, Lucas," Molly said, or more probably mumbled as she flopped back onto the couch cushions with a yawn. "I'm so glad you're my friend."And then she was asleep.
Ooc: Molly out~ [/quote]
