Troubled Times: A powers and conflicts roleplay

Troubled Times is an evolution controversy roleplay. Oh, and there's powers involved. Mustn't forget to mention the powers...

Some would call people with these changes and powers "mutants", some would call them "metahumans", and others still would call them "super-powered"... Here, we call them the Educed... Over time, people have shown up through history with capabilities unlike those of most other people. The ones mainly focused on had been telekinetics, mind-readers, precogs, mediums, and those with the ability of levitation. Many were hoaxes, a few were genuine, but what can be said for sure, is that the real ones were a sign of a beginning. A sign of the next step in evolution becoming less recessive. In times of the witch hunts, a lot of the Educed were wiped out and in some cases, some of their families, so there had been a setback but that had been centuries ago. Now, in the last few decades another population boom of the educed has arrived. It started with a trickle, but has become almost a flood. So many Educed are surfacing now, that they are no longer considered flukes.

This has been faced with several different reactions, many of which were mixed so in an attempt to avoid too much chaos, CEPO and Stage 1 Communities were created by the government as a temporary solution. CEPO is a government run and funded program designed to collect, train, and evaluate the Educed for potential military use. Those that pass the requirements are enrolled into the program while those who don't reach the bar of expectations or are unfit for the program are relocated to a monitored and protected all Educed community called the Stage 1 Community. This Stage 1 Community was made not only for the protection of the Educed living within these newly made cities, but for the non-powered people that they may endanger.

There are those that are against these so called solutions and from this disagreement was born new groups such as Humanity's Hope and the Enforcers of Evolution. Both are considered hostile groups but haven't been able to be disbanded as of yet.

There is one other affiliation that has been left overlooked and intentionally hidden. The residents of Novell Heights. Novell Heights isn't so much of a team or group but a place of education and a safe-haven for the Educed in these troubled times...
