1. When does this site take place?
The main universe that MUSD takes place is the standard Marvel 616 universe after the events of the Avengers vs X-Men story. However, we allow you to play a character during any point in their history.
2. What will be required in my Role Playing Sample?
For the role playing sample, we require you to write about the moment your character arrives in the pocket dimension created by Thanos. How they arrive in this dimension is entirely up to you. It could be something as simple as opening the door to the bathroom and walking out in the middle of the street or something. For examples, please look at the previously accepted apps.
3. Who are the staff?
The staff of Marvel Universe Shattered Dimensions include Spider-Island, House of M, Immortal Weapons, Second Coming, Pride and Joy, Civil War and Age of Apocalypse. Our duty is to make this website a fun and welcoming place for everyone. We ask for all members and guests to please respect the staff and listen to anything they have to say in regards to the site and other activities. Disrespect towards any member of this site, especially the staff, will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
4. Can I have an OC Hero or Villain with Superpowers?
In order to play an original character with superpowers, or a non civilian type character in general, our rules require you to app a Canon character first. The reasoning behind this is because the Marvel universe is so incredibly vast and full of so many unique characters that we feel that there is such a great variety to choose from. If you wish to create an OC hero or villain of some sort, we ask that they are unique in their own way and not directly coping from an already established canon character.
It should be noted that if you wish to create an OC Civilian, the canon rule does not apply.
5. Can I make my OC a clone of another character?
No. We do not allow clones of any character unless they exist in the Marvel universe. Examples include Ben Reilly and X-23.
6. How strong can my OC be?
We are extremely restrictive on the powers that an OC may have. Personally, I do not want to see an OC with Galactus level strength. No Original Character is allowed to be an expert in their powers and are required to be completely new to them.
7. Can I make a character that is the child of two canon characters?
Did they show up in the comics/TV series/cartoons or movies?
No?
Then No.
8. Why are certain characters such as Deadpool and the Silver Surfer restricted?
Characters are listed as banned due to power reasons. Deadpool and Silver Surfer are a special case however. Deadpool is marked as restricted due to the fact that his ability to break the fourth wall and his over the top healing factor can make it very easy for a player to God mod or power play with him. This is something we do not allow. Silver Surfer is restricted thanks to his power level as well.
We do understand however that these two characters are extremely popular amongst fans so we will still allow them to be played. Bare in mind that the staff will evaluate the persons aping these two characters to see if they are truly a fit for the site and work within the rules that we have already established.
9. Can I play Superior Spider-Man?
As long as I (Spider-Island) am the head administrator of this site, Superior Spider-Man will never, ever, EVER appear in any format.
10. Why?
Because I hate Superior Spider-Man with an undying passion. This also leads into another topic involving characters. We do not allow two different versions of the same character to be played. For example, if someone is playing the movie verse version of Tony Stark, this means that no one else can play any other version of Tony Stark. There are ways to work with this rule however. For example, if you want to play a version of Spider-Man, but Peter Parker is taken, you can play such characters as Miles Morales, Ben Reilly or even Miguel O’Hara.
11. But Superior Spiderman is techincally Dr. Octopus, so why doesn't that count?
It may be Dr. Octopus in mind, but it is still Peter Parker's body. End of story.
12. Why are What If? Characters banned?
While this site does allow characters from multiple dimensions, we feel that there are some dimensions that are frankly too ridiculous to be allowed on this site. For example, there is a what if universe in which Aunt May was given the powers of the Silver Surfer. There is another universe in which the Human Torch had the powers of Colossus.
13. Why are Marvel Zombies banned?
Because this site is rated PG-13. Nuff said.
14. What is the rule involving mature themes such as over the top violence and sexual content?
With adult themes that go beyond the PG-13 theme of this site, we ask that you use the “Fade to Black” method when such occasions come up.
15. What constitutes as going beyond PG-13?
Graphic Sexual Content.
Gore.
Racial/Homophobic/Sexist/Discriminatory and other Derogatory slurs.
Graphic Drug Use (very limited if used in a thread)
Alluding to Rape
Excessive Obscenities.
Any adult themes involving Children
