C.R.E.A.M.
The acronym was the very basis or foundation upon which this entire god damn world revolved around, yeah that's right, C.R.E.A.M.; Cash Rules Everything Around Me and no truer words could be stated but that. Up on rooftops within the cover and dead of night flitted a shadow, deft and agile, swift and near silent her booted feet padded lightly against rooftop ledges as she sprung in death defying acrobatic feats. Felicia wasn't about to lie, she lived for this stuff; was thrilled by it. Tonight she was supposed to meet up with one of Vinny's contacts. A thief Vinny claimed was unlike any other and who had extensive knowledge of alien tech which Felicia needed. She had the skill and the know-how to break into a government building and steal the alien tech, she just didn't have the knowledge of alien tech which would come in handy when filching the thing. Last thing she wanted is to be blasted by some unknown tech. No bringing someone along that knew or understood their workings was handy. So it was that she agreed to meet Vinny's thief at midnight at the DUMBO Industrial District. DUMBO was an acronym for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass. Most of the businesses there were harmless nondescript warehouses and buildings to house things like Arbuckle Brothers (coffee and sugar), J.W. Masury & Son (paint), Robert Gair (paper boxes), E.W. Bliss (machinery), and Brillo (soap pads). The district also included the earliest, large scale reinforced concrete factory buildings in America convenient for the government to place an undisclosed facility there that housed some alien tech. The district itself had historic industrial complexes and was a national historic district in Brooklyn. The complex consisted of 95 contributing 19th and early 20th century industrial warehouse buildings, from Belgian block streets, and to its location on the East River imposing anchorage of the Manhattan Bridge. As Felicia made a run for an impossible leap to the next building the female cat burglar depressed a trigger of her small pistol style grappling hook and tether line so she was able to utilize the swing momentum from it and reach that rooftop. SHLINK!It stuck to the other side and Felicia used the force and momentum to generate extra lift and somersaulted onto the next rooftop landing deftly on all fours she craned her neck and for a moment just allowed the cool night breeze to blow against her causing her hair to blow wildly from the height she was perched at, but it was here she waited for her contact, watch and waited to ensure the coast was clear before leaping down the side of the building to the predetermined meeting place; a small back alley, away from prying eyes and nosy passerby. This would be as good a spot as any to meet, It was quiet and secluded enough. Didn't seem to have any dangers lurking. An easy scale down Felicia used the fire escape to flip back and forth in a zig zag pattern down the building to slow her descent and managed to land quietly and deftly onto the pavement. Looking about the area she could hear the presence of someone approaching so into the shadows she went. Nothing like a little cat and mouse game to start out the evening.

Rocket stood up and moved to the edge of the roof, watching the people out and about on the city streets below in silence then slowly turned and stepped down onto the main part of the roof before turning back around. A flicker of movement from nearby made him stop and step into the more shadowy areas as he scanned the buildings surrounding his current location as he had come out on a job. And right now, the element of surprise was going to prove useful considering what the assignment from this Vinny guy entailed.
As the coast seemed to be clear as the source was a bird, he shifted in the shadows for a moment or two before coming out of the concealment that the darker areas of the roof provided and breaking into a run, he leaped over another alleyway and continued moving. Back-flipping onto the next roof-top, he took up a perch on the edge of the roof to watch and wait for a few seconds as if checking that no-one had spotted his movements. He couldn't afford to give the game away while he waited for whoever was meant to be partnered with him on this job.
No-one seemed to have spotted the two-legged raccoon running around the place judging by the lack of attention he was getting. He then somersaulted over the top of the alleyway and skidded along the top of the roof and kept running to leap over another gap between two buildings. Finally pausing as he sniffed the air, Rocket frowned - there was someone else in the immediate area and he glanced around. His hand reached back and his fingers closed around the handle of his gun.
"Who's there, ya got till the count of ten to show yerself and ya better be who I'm here to meet" he called and started to pull the weapon free "10... 9... 8... 7..."

The darkness of the alley made visibility a little difficult with the shadows, the dim lighting and the hazy mist of steam from some of the building piping. It made it hard to see who had entered the alley way and from her vantage point Felicia had to squint just to try and catch the movement and play in shadows. She could hear them, it was only one. Pressing herself against a small darkened alcove as her head snapped up to the rooftops where first the noise originated and then she heard it skittering almost or was that just the light steps of a female? That would be a little different. Most times Felicia found herself in the company of men or no company at all. Her line of work had very few females that included those that hired her, competition of thieves or well just plain guards she needed to avoid or dispose of. Generally it was a man run world she lived in or well maybe not run so much as played. She played with the Big Boys and while there were a few women on the board she rarely ran across them and from experience when she did they were even more badass than the males. Case and point Elektra. The mere name brought an involuntary shudder to the young thief. The assassin had been the last memory in Felicia's mind before waking up here; that and the woman's sai embedding itself into her chest.
She shook off the remnants of the death like chill that always followed thoughts of the assassin. Felicia wasn't look forward to another run in with the woman and hoped this 'woman' would not be half as dangerous. Then again any woman in this type of a game was dangerous in their own right. Well as long as 'she' was capable and all that Vinny said she'd be then she had no beef with a female alien tech expert. Hell, Felicia was female herself so maybe a little bit of 'girl power' was needed for a heist like this. After all a few have tried to get at the tech but many had failed. It was just the kind of heist the kind of challenge that got Felicia all riled up. Thrill of the chase and all that jazz. Her smile grew in anticipation as the sounds got closer and then through the misty haze of darkness a silhouette was given to shed a little more light on her potential partner or maybe it was just some innocent passer by. Then again how many passerbys skittered over rooftop and landed in alley ways, and this particular alley way at that. Yeah odds were this was her contact.
Felicia's eyes squinted though at the diminutive silhouette haloed by dim fading light and hazy fog of steam. Her partner was a female pigmy? Seriously? Would she even be able to reach the counter to see the item or would Felicia have to give the 'girl' a boost. Oh God how ridiculous was that having to lift up a grown woman just to look at the alien tech before snagging it. Was Vinny setting her up for failure? Was this some kind of sick joke? And then the possibility of the ridiculous just hit it into full gear at the next interaction as the little 'girl' was actually ... well a male with a rather loud and caustic sounding voice. The raspy tone was a bit hot if Felicia closed her eyes and didn't think about the fact that the 'man' was 3 feet in size.
"Who's there, ya got till the count of ten to show yerself and ya better be who I'm here to meet" he called and started to pull the weapon free.
So that was her contact, great...just friggin mini wee great. Felicia thought to herself at the misfortune of her night.
Felicia circled in the safety and silence of shadow walk; back against the wall pressed and quiet as she leaped up into the air. "Depends on who you're supposed to meet darling...." came a distended female voice from the shadows.
"10..."
"Awww come on...Is that a way you greet a lady?...with a gun?" the distended voice came from somewhere else now, playful and soft in the shadows.
"9..."
"How do you expect to greet nice with a gun out..." again the voice from another angle opposite the first still playful in its tone; soft and elusive.
Swift and quiet Felicia moved, she needed to get a better look at who she was dealing with and check things out herself.
"8..."
"What if I'm shy?..." she asked playfully coy and she continued to distract and deflect from the real reason.
"7..."
"What if I--Oh My God you're a raccoon?!" the voice pitched quickly from the soft playfully silky tones to a near shrill of absolute shock, horror and surprise of the OMFG kind. "Are you kidding me?"
Felicia dropped down now to stand before the little rodent. She wasn't quite sure at the moment whether to be repulsed or curious that she was talking to a -now in context- giant rodent.
"You're my 'tech expert?" Felicia didn't even have any words left to describe how absolutely floored she was. No way she still had a few "We're not just rattling trashcans you know...Can you even reach a keypad?" Felicia probably sounded a bit snippy now but these were high stakes and she was going to be breaking into a government secure facility she did not want some vermin ruining it for her on the count of incompetence or inefficiencies. Felicity liked to play around but when it came to a heist she was dead pan serious. She was always in it to win it; losers step off to the side.
Probably not the best way to start off a working partnership but well ...seriously a cat and a 'rodent' (in Felicia's eyes) did anyone expect it to go down any other way?

To be honest, some of his attitude was a defensive front as he didn't want to get close to anyone due to the fact he didn't have the highest opinion of himself. That and not wanting to get close to anyone because then one has to care about them which isn't a smart move in his line of work, what something happened to a partner he liked. And anyone he did make friends with may end up outliving him, hell Groot was going to and he didn't want to hurt them like that, not that he was going to admit it.
At least unless his partner for tonight kind of earned some slight respect from him. It was true that he had to adapt and change his targets in this place, back home he and Groot targeted whoever had a price on their head whoever they were. But around here, jobs like this meant he could earn the money he needed to survive on the planet.
"Stop playing games and show yourself" he broke off counting as a feminine voice answered him from the shadows then a white-haired woman in a black costume emerged from the darkness. Was this the person he was meant to make contact with?
It was just his fracking luck to end up trapped here. Especially as he came from a range of planets where his appearance didn't matter and it had been kind of nice to be treated just like everyone else. But now, he couldn't walk the streets of the main town without people either shying away from him or staring at him like he was some kind of freak for once.
"Yeah, and you're be surprised what I can do with a keypad. And I got knowledge on what we're stealing. Now we going to stand around yammering all night or get going?"

"Yeah, and you're be surprised what I can do with a keypad..." the little raccoon spoke.
"If you can reach it." the young thief grumbled under breath as she rolled her eyes in that teenager kind of way, arms crossed, unimpressed and unconvinced this little raccoon thing was the answer to her needs on this heist. She was seriously going to sink some claws into Vinny for setting up this farce of a team up. She had specifically asked for a tech expert , the best there was and this...this little rug rat was what the guy passed off to her as an expert? Yeah this was a real hoot of a joke. Felicia thought sarcastically, still her options were limited now, take the little runt with her get this done, maybe he really did have skills or call it a night and not bother trying and she was seriously contemplating heavily the latter however the amount of money this heist would bring would get her that nice studio loft she was eyeing not to mention the money needed to fix up some of her gear. Without the Tinker here she actually had to pay someone to fix her gear, and custom stuff like hers was always at a premium and her funds were quickly depleting here.
"...And I got knowledge on what we're stealing. Now we going to stand around yammering all night or get going?"
Behind her mask the slightest arc of her brow could be seen along with a smirk. "You better not just be all talk runt." Felicia replied. "We aren't just breaking into any old building. It's a SHIELD depot with state of the art security and guards with a shoot first and ask questions later mentality. We only have a ten minute window to get the alien tech out safely without getting our selves blown up in the process. So if there's anything on that tech you're gonna have to disable it. My forte's in securities and break and enter, not alien-ware. So you better pull through."
With that Felicia raised her arm and from her wrist a grappling hook and line shot out snagging onto the roof's ledge and with a secure pull to verify a good hold the young thief was in the air somersaulting on to the roof top. "What are you waiting for?...Keep up." she smirked regardless of whether he was already up there with her or not her almost playful yet still annoyed comment would be the same.
So over rooftops she led him, flitting through shadows, leaping and vaulting like some crazy mad version of a midnight parkour run; Felicia deftly making it over or through any obstacle and when she couldn't, used her grappling hooks to give her the extra lift or pull she needed as she sailed through the air. She wasn't going to lie, difficult heists like these gave her a certain thrill like none other and the running across the rooftops in the dead of night sticking to the shadows so as not to be seen also had an edge of danger to it as well that she could not deny, was as much intoxicating as it was addictive. The rush and feel of the cold wind through her face and hair was like a reassuring salve that helped to take a bit of the earlier edge off her frustration at her unexpected 'tech expert'.
Landing deftly upon the roof of an adjacent building Felicia pointed at their target. "There, that's the building there." taking out a small tablet like device she went over the blueprints of the building. "The ventilation shaft is here..." she pointed and highlighted the area, then pointed across the way to the adjacent roof. "That's the best point of entry. It's a bit of a tight fit but workable. We get into the server room, infiltrate the security system then starts our ten minute window." she said.
"The guards patrol in teams of four and there are checkpoints they need to meet and key in at those points. But during a shift change, there is a 15 minute window of time where they aren't expected to key in, and that's our window of opportunity to find that tech and get the hell out. They have fifteen but the security loop I have only gives us ten so don't count on that extra five. There are other locks, lasers, pressure plates, and all other forms of traps we probably haven't even thought of so be on the lookout. Any questions runt?" Felicia asked eyeing the raccoon the entire time for any signs of nerves or uncertainty. If she so much as saw a twitch of doubtfulness in the animal she was calling this thing off. Hesitation was the worst enemy in a precision heist.

"Don't need yours" Rocket replied and hauled out his collapsible holo-computer, one of the few things he had found still on his person after being teleported here.
Upon his arrival in town, Rocket had quickly taken to taking whatever jobs he was good at and could find in order to build up some funds needed to buy food, drink and basic supplies. He had observed the humans handing this over and getting stuff in return, meaning it was the local currency. That was most likely why this Vinny guy had contacted him in the first place.
And his current situation also got under his skin, this place was going to destroy his perfect record of prison breaks. It was the first place that all his planning and scheming seemed unable to get him out of and if there was one thing he hated, it was being trapped like an animal. Especially as the city seemed to be centered about containing the inhabitants like they were little more than rats in a maze and that brought up memories he would rather not relive. At least not when he was awake, the nightmares were another story altogether.
Shaking his head to clear it as he started jumping from roof-top to roof-top again thanks to his cybernetic skeleton, he kept the woman in sight until she had stopped at the place they were raiding. As she pulled up the building's blueprints, Rocket pulled up his own copy on his holo-computer then studied them closely and nodded, memorizing the layout quickly.
"Just got one question, when are we going in?" and with those words, he reached to tap one finger against the part of the gun he could reach. Switching what he was doing fast, he grabbed the weapon as the barrel slid forwards. Swinging it around so his primary gun rested on one of his shoulders. A low whirring hum implied he was powering it up so not to be defenseless and shifted it into both his hands.

Maneuvering through the ventilation system was not what Felicia would call a stroll in the park. Even with her lithe frame it was still a tight fit, she figured the raccoon would have an easier time of it due to his diminutive stature, however the young cat burglar never uttered so much as a word from the moment they broke in and started their way down the metal encased vents. It was relatively slow moving considering but she was also being careful so as not to make any unnecessary banging or anything that would reverberate down the metallic shafts which could echo and alert others of their whereabouts. No she was meticulous and careful in her movements, crawling further along the shaft Felicia made a right turn knowing that about ten feet from now her current position she would need to make a left turn and then shimmy down a vertical drop of about 12 feet if the blueprints of the building and vent system was correct and it was. On the next level the vent system split into three directions and glancing down at her mini compass she checked to see that the tunnel to the right was the westerly direction then signalled quietly for the raccoon so he knew which direction she was headed. Another left turn and Felicia could see the opening up into the server room. The grills were larger mostly to allow more circulation of air to keep the computers cool, that played more in their favor.
Peering through the grill to ensure the coast was clear and uninhabited. Carefully then she pushed the grill off but held on to it. She didn't want any loud clangs so set it aside and out of the way. Carefully she wormed her upper body out of the shaft and then clutched the bottom of the shaft opening, she then rolled her lower back and hips out and somersaulted onto the serer room floor silently without so much as a sound when she landed with cat like grace. Being silent and unseen were the staples to her profession, well that and being able to break into hard to break into places. Felicia wouldn't lie, there was definitely something exhilarating about sneaking into a place you aren't supposed to be in and an absolute rush when you take something from the place unseen.
So far so good, she looked back to see if the raccoon was still there before moving towards a terminal. From there she unzipped a bit of her suit to get at a small little device that she plugged into the terminal and jumpered a few wires. To Rocket her equipment and her methods probably look more archaic compared to the normal alien tech he used or was used to, but to Felicia it was cutting edge equipment and ciphers to hack into the system and bypass security. As she waited for her device to connect and unexpected noise could be heard just outside the server room doors. Someone was coming in.
Crap! She thought, then cast a look over to the raccoon to see if he heard it too and if he was on the alert. She couldn't pull her device out now, not until it ran its course but she couldn't stand there and be seen either. Moving away quickly as she heard keys rattling on the door knob and muffled voices of laughter Felicia shut off the monitor and leaped away from the terminal.
She was caught in between as she looked at the ventilation shaft and the door knob that was turning. There was no time for that route so she scampered up a shelving unit housing the switches and hardware for the servers and pressed herself into a corner above; the back of her head pressed against the ceiling in a strained position her knees against the top of the shelving to leverage herself while at the same time pushing with her arms against the two side walls to anchor her body. She looked like a black spider spread at the corner of the wall ready to pounce. It isn't the most comfortable positions in the world to hold but she had no choice, she needed to settle herself as the doors open and maybe just maybe she and the raccoon would be lucky and they wouldn't notice her some five feet above their heads.
They flicked on more of the lights as originally the room was dimly lit with minimal lighting, but now she was no longer in the shadows and suddenly her black catsuit and mask stood out like a sore thumb, if they looked up that is. Felicia looked over at her counterpart hoping he was ready to act should these guards spot her at the corner above them. If they looked up and off to the corner of the ceiling they'd see her hanging there like a spider. One of them notices the device she left connected to the terminal, it wasn't finished yet and she couldn't risk him taking it out before it was done so with a wordless signal to the raccoon to take out the guard's buddy while she dealt with the one closest to her.
The guard closes to her draws his fire arm now walked cautiously and peering through the aisles of hardware, his partner moving off to presumable flank them. His partner heading towards the direction of the raccoon and Felicia hoped to god that thing knew the meaning of the word subtle because they could not afford the sound of gunfire. She wasn't really even sure if the thing knew how to fight. She hoped so because Felicia had her own problems to contend with she couldn't help the runt as the guard standing right beneath her now looked up as if alerted by some sixth sense or something.
Damn it. She was had. "Hello Lover." Felicia smiled in that playful manner, she couldn't resist flirting with danger and the guard before her.
The soldier's weapon raised and aimed right at Felicia only when he depressed the trigger nothing happened except the impotent sound of the gun click; gun jammed as her 'bad luck aura' took effect at the most inopportune times for her enemies or well in Felicia's eyes the most opportune times for her. "Well lucky me." her lips creased into a deadly smile before Felicia shoved off the wall and pile drove the man to the floor.
Things were about to get a little physical but hopefully this one wasn't a screamer.
OOC: There are two guards in the room. Felica just engaged one of them. Feel free to go all nuts with the action if you like.

Pausing to pull on some socks, covering both his hands and feet so his claws didn't end up scratching the bottom of the vents, alerting anyone to their presence. That done, he easily followed his partner through the ventilation system and smirked, thankful for his smaller size.
As they arrived at a computer terminal's area and silently emerged from the vents, something he knew how to do as some of his jobs back home had involved stealing either valuables or information. Rocket watched the woman hook some device up to the terminal and moved to stand on his tip-toes to study it, wondering how fast the thing could operate. A rattling noise made him look over at the door and Rocket scowled then dashed to press up against the wall next to the door as the lights were switched on, exposing the woman he was working with.
Movement to one side made Rocket glance sideways as the female Terran moved to attack one of the guards who had just walked in. He launched himself forward and whammed into the other men's back then dug his claws in to secure himself. Instinct kicked in as the man yelped and reached back to try grabbing him and he sank his teeth firmly into the guy's hand, quickly and savagely yanking it to one side while he moved to avoid the other hand. He eyed the man then glanced around to see what his next move would be. A set of fingers wrapped around his neck and he was yanked off, ripping the guy's hand apart in the process before he was slammed up against a wall. His attacker stepped forward and leaned in closer, ignoring the creature snapping at his fingers and smirked "Reckon I just found me a new hat"
Half-gasping, half-snarling now as he fought to get his breath back, Rocket bared his teeth and started to lower his head like he was prepared to sink his fangs into his captor's hand and his ears flicked back when he spat "Sorry, got no freaking desire to be anyone's d'asted hat"

She had shoved off the wall and pile drove the guard to her floor, the man losing his weapon in the process. The satisfying smack of head hitting tile floor could be heard in and amongst the grunting and snarls of profanity escaping said guards lips.
"Language." Felicia replied as she moved to punch the man on the face only he flipped her off of him as if she were nothing more than a rag doll.
Felicia went sailing backwards, her body quickly twisting in mid air as she was thrown, flipped and then righted herself so that by the time she hit ground she was crouched and poised like a cat ready to pounce. A playful yet dangerous looking smile creased her lips.
"Mmmmm fiesty..." she cooed, "I like when prey fight back."
The man's retaliatory strike was well telegraphed, Felicia reading the move cleanly and clearly, probably because her opponent was still shaken from her pile drive where his head smacked against the floor. He was probably still trying to shake off the stars. Either way Felicia caught his wrist and locked his arm, as she put a foot up on the guard's thigh using it as a push off to bring her other kneel square onto the man's jaw like a seriously upper cut only with her knee delivering the strike. The man's head whipped back; severe whiplash mixed with a broken jaw.
It wasn't always about strength and power, sometimes a confrontation could be handled with a bit of finesse, a little help from the laws of physics, and some luck. Felicia moved with the swiftness and agility of a cat and just as the man went reeling backwards from her initial strike, Felicia then pivoted and leaped into the air performing a standing back-flip as her one leg caught the man as he reeled back forcing him to fall and hit the ground harder. His direction of the fall matched with the momentum of her flip kick, the impact of her strike pretty much guaranteed that this time when her opponent's head hit the ground he'd be out cold.
Landing splayed on all fours along her downed opponent, the Black Cat looked up to see how her furry friend was doing and couldn't help but smirk at the scene before her. The little fur ball had taken care of business on his end. Maybe he wasn't as useless as Felicia thought.
"Sorry, got no freaking desire to be anyone's d'asted hat" the raccoon spat.
"What's a d'asted hat?" Felicia asked the raccoon offhandedly as she searched her downed guard's various pockets and then smiled when she found what she was looking for.
"Ha! Luck be a lady..." she said glancing back once more towards the raccoon and brandished between her fingers a thin black card. "Access Card."
Leaving the unconscious men on the ground, Felicia moved to the terminal to ensure her program had time to download itself into the security system. A few clicks of her fingers on the keyboard showed that the program was successfully running.
"Alright Runt, let's get a move on. We have ten minutes to find the alien tech and book it out of here."
Felicia led the way knowing what level the stolen tech would be housed and with the newly acquired access card it made door opening much easier until they reached the level where the alien tech was situated in. The lens screen on her masked eyes caught the sight of the infrared laser mesh hidden from human view; the meshing too tightly crossed for her to fit or maneuver through though the Runt could probably make short work of it.
"Not sure you can see it but in front of you is a meshwork of infrared lasers that I am guessing if disrupted will set off alarms. The gaps are small enough for you to fit through but I gotta find another way." Felicia said as her access card didn't seem to have the clearance for whatever was just beyond that corridor before them. Looking up at the ceiling, the young thief just found her own way in.
"We get through that meshwork of lasers and then we break that code on the door to get into that room. The alien tech has to be in there." Felicia said. "Catch you on the other side."
With that the Black Cat leaped onto the ceiling, her microfilament gloves and suit helped to enable her to practically cling and hold onto the roof and crawl upside down towards the other end of the corridor and then dropping down to land on the other side of the hallway where the blast doors were that blocked entry into the area they needed to get into.
OOC: Apologies for delay. Hope the post works for you. PM me though if anything needs edits.

Rocket whipped out his gun, holding it like an old friend and taking a second to steady the weapon, adjusting the weapon to its lowest setting. A low whirring hum implied it was powering up before he aimed and fired down at the guy's leg. If he couldn't walk or stand up, he couldn't attack.
The raccoon snorted as hes dropped instantly and his eyes narrowed. Holding the weapon like an old friend, he spun around and hoisted the weapon back onto his shoulder. A low whirring hum implied it was powering up and the next thing the guard, who was now on his knees and whimpering in pain knew, a blast of electricity had whammed onto his back and he collapsed into a twitching heap.
It took the space of a few seconds for Rocket to relieve the human of his belt, using the leather straps to tie the guard's hands behind his backs and step away. As his temporary partner moved to the computer, the raccoon nodded and yanked the guy's wallet out of his pocket while she wasn't looking at him. Opening it to remove the money then dropping it on the floor, he shoved the money into his pocket, it was an unexpected bonus and he needed all the money he could get right now. Not like he could just walk into a bank and withdraw some as he had been getting used to how this place's currency worked.
Frowning as the woman warned him of the laser grid before she used the ceiling to avoid them. Pausing for a moment, Rocket reached into the small bag he had brought along and pulled out a set of tech-based goggles he had modified personally for such jobs. Slipping them on, he nodded as the grid was now visible to him and carefully made his way through the lasers.
Reaching the other side, he snorted and retorted quietly "The name's Rocket not Runt"

Felicia moved across the ceiling carefully, the microfilaments of her attire suctioning to the surface of the ceiling adhering to the surface giving slight resistance to her movement and slowing her down a bit, but she wasn't exactly complaining. It at least kept her above board and not falling into the web of lasers beneath her. She looked down briefly to see how the 'runt' was doing. It was still surreal to her to be doing a heist with a talking racoon. Still, he did a pretty good job back there of handling himself and his action of pocketing money on the side from his opponent would have warmed the heart of any thief, ok not really but she was amused as hell. The cat burglar smirked as she watched the racoon reach into the small bag he had brought along and pulled out a set of tech-based goggles - mini-sized to fir him- Felicia figured probably enabled him to see the lasers. That made the young thief wonder where he got that and if the same person that built it could fix her equipment. Back on her world the Tinker fixed her gear but on this world she hadn't yet met up with someone like him so Felicia was more than curious where the little runt got his gear. She continued to watch as the raccoon slipped his gear and carefully made his way through the lasers. Felicia followed suit above him moving until she reached the end sans lasers and released her hold on the ceiling and landed next to the racoon with the deftness and agility of a cat. With a sly smile Felicia stood to her full height and looked down at the racoon. "Nice moves, Runt, and love the glasses." she smirked as she moved over to the keypad and had a look at it. "The name's Rocket not Runt" the little thing retorted quietly. Felicia looked over briefly at 'Rocket' stopping her work on the keypad security system. "Rocket?" she looked him over trying to figure out how that name came about. "For real?" she asked smirking then continued to work on the keypad, removing the punch pad itself and getting into the wiring. "Either your parent's have a sick sense of humor or you are trying to compensate for something?" "Where'd you get a name like that anyways?" she asked as she continued to work through getting the doors open. The successful sound of a green lit blip was heard and the doors before them opened with a resounded and dramatic 'swoosh'. Inside the room was pitch black and bone chillingly cold. "Open says-a-me." the joke was lame but meh, Felicia delivered the line none the less. "After you...Rocket." she smiled, slight amusement creased her lips. Personally she thought Runt was a cuter name but he didn't seem too keen on it and well if he preferred Rocket, she'd call him whatever name he wanted, so long as he could properly identify and help her get that alien tech out of this place. Felicia tapped the side of her lenses and it immediately switched to infrared mode as she looked about the dark room. "What do you make of this place?" she asked as they moved into the vast storage room with racks upon racks of shelving and boxed items all labelled with military designations and acronyms. "Kinda creepy SHIELD houses this much weird...stuff." she said leaping up onto a higher shelf to get a closer look only to frown at the contents. The metallic box had this weird looking obelisk thing, that didn't look like much. It wasn't what they were looking for so she shut the case and moved on, leaping back onto the ground next to Rocket. "So, how exactly does a raccoon get to be an expert on alien tech?" she asked even as they continued to walk down the large expanse of the room and then handed him a rough sketch of the thing they were looking for. "Only name I was given was Item 47. Any clue what it is or what it does?" OOC: LINK to item 47.

"Thanks, I made them myself and don't remember my parents" the raccoon replied with a shrug as he slid the googles up to rest on his forehead. Frowning as his partner commented on a family he had never known then asked about where he had got his name. For the next few seconds, he remained quiet and lost in the memory of somewhere else.
He was in a large cell only without a door though the quiet hum coming from the doorway implied a force-field. A messily arranged blanket and pillow had been pushed up against the wall in one corner while two bowls - one holding a mess of half-cooked meat of some sort, the other holding water sat in a corner. In the opposite corner, a cringing, whimpering ball of blood-stained fur shakily climbed to his feet like he wasn't quite used to standing on two legs yet and tried to claw at the metal walls as a human-shaped shadow fell over him.
"I believe it's time for your next cybernetics session, Subject 89P13"
His mood changed in an instant at the woman's next question, the raccoon tensing as his ears stiffened and his tail swayed to and fro. He bit back a growl then he lowered his gaze and added quietly "As for why I named myself that, it's a long story and I don't really wanna talk about it right now"
Shaking his head as he needed to focus on the here and now, he glanced around the room even as he slipped in after the female thief and slipped his own googles back over his eyes. Rocket then moved to pick up a small metal box and opened it, frowning at the set of ten rings it held before closing it and putting it back.
Turning his attention back to the human, the raccoon replied quietly "Guess the only way to find that out is to locate this particular item. I can identity it from there"

"Thanks, I made them myself and don't remember my parents" the raccoon replied with a shrug as he slid the googles up to rest on his forehead as if it was nothing, as if it was no different than making himself a cup of coffee. He made that?!
"You made them yourself?" Felicia's eyes widened slightly as she regarded the little fur ball with enlightened eyes.
His mood changed in an instant at her question of his name, the raccoon tensing as his ears stiffened and his tail swayed to and fro. Felicia wasn't sure was it the mention of parents or her comment on over compensating either way the raccoon bit back a growl then he lowered his gaze and added quietly "As for why I named myself that, it's a long story and I don't really wanna talk about it right now"
Part of her wanted to apologize, but well Felicia wasn't really great at apologies instead like the raccoon she just turned uncomfortable silence into getting back to work and look about the room and finding their prize. Felicia looked over at Rocket then as he moved to pick up a small metal box and opened it, frowning at the set of ten rings it held before closing it and putting it back. Felicia did the same with another box that held some weird looking sphere thing. Closing it she hopped back down and showed him the sketch of the alien tech and said it was called Item 47.
Turning his attention back to her Rocket replied quietly "Guess the only way to find that out is to locate this particular item. I can identity it from there"
"Sure." Felicia said as they continued to walk and check another shelving unit and boxes to no avail. She frowned as she shut the last container closed. "You still never answered, how'd you get to be an expert on alien tech I mean, you haven't exactly been to space or anything...have you?" she looked at him for the briefest moment as if there was no way that was the reason.
She stopped at a metal cabinet with an intricate state of the art security pad. "I think I might know where our package is at." Felicia smiled though it faded with one look at the locking mechanism and security pad on it. "I don't recognize this system...never run across the likes." she commented on was definitely different maybe even alien tech itself that was securing it, Felicia wasn't sure. All she knew was it was a locking system she's never before encountered.
"Hmmm...well this is a pickle." she commented. "And how come you don't like the nickname Runt? I think it's cute and the runts of the litter aren't expected to live, are always underestimated; the underdogs."
Felicia started to work on the locking mechanism with her tools. "And I like underdogs because no one ever expects much...they look like nothing, people never see the win coming." she said continued to work on the locking mechanism each time the young thief got closer and closer to her prize "...but they're little fighters each and everyone; survivors. You never underestimate a runt." Felicia said.
"I was born premature, wasn't expected to survive, tiniest little thing my mom said...didn't amount to much she thought...look at me now." she gave the Raccoon a wink as the successful sound of a click and the hiss of a vacuum seal being opened sounded. "It's not a bad thing, being a survivor."
Felicia smiled wide as she motioned at the alien tech that matched the sketch she had. Item 47; a Chitauri weapon...one of their footmen's rifle and it was fully operational.
"Well Ru--Rocket...time to earn your share." she gestured to the object for the raccoon to analyze.

"Yeah, developed a knack for that kind of thing" Rocket replied with a shrug then moved to trail after the woman.
As his partner spoke up again and asked about where he had got his knowledge, the raccoon's thoughts traveled to the group he had left behind. He had been a little concerned for the other three, still was while he had more or less only met them but Groot had been his partner for so long that it didn't feel right without him around. And maybe the problem was he had just been starting to let Quill and the others in, accepting the potential team everyone seemed to be becoming. And they had been the few who truly treated him as an equal instead of an animal, a freak.
Shaking his head a little to banish the tiny stab of homesickness, the raccoon added "Yeah, I did more than just go there. Actually came from the Andromeda galaxy" then he moved next to Felicia and stood on his tip-toes, watching her work on picking the lock.
Turning his attention away from the cabinet, he glanced up at her and fidgeting, his tail fluffing up and his ears flicked back before he replied quietly, rubbing at his upper chest "Sometimes got called that...elsewhere and believe me, I know about surviving and being underestimated"
Falling silent and stepping back even as his partner opened the security lock, Rocket moved to examine the item by carefully taking it out and rested it on one shoulder like he was using to handlng guns then commented quietly "Yeah, it's a Chitauri gun, they wear it on the lower arm and it's an energy-based weapon. We fought, well my friends did at least, a bunch of these guys before I ended up trapped here"

"Yeah, developed a knack for that kind of thing" Rocket had replied with a shrug to Felicia's comment as if it wasn't a big deal doing what he did. Did he know that raccoons normally didn't do those things or even talked for that matter?
"You realize most of your kind don't even develop past dumpster diving and washing food in a stream. Don't sell yourself short." Felicia commented as they walked. Then Felicia went on to ask about where he had gotten his knowledge and even as she worked she would glance at Rocket from time to time and noted the pensive looks he'd have once in a while.
Shaking his head a little as if to banish some unwanted throughts, the raccoon added "Yeah, I did more than just go there. Actually came from the Andromeda galaxy" then he moved next to Felicia and stood on his tip-toes, watching her work on picking the lock.
Felicia smirked as she worked on 'picking' the lock. "Yeah astronomy was never really my forte. No clue what or where that place is and really what are the odds that they'd have raccoons there too. Though apparently theirs are sentient and can talk. Any other animals walk around talking and acting like Humans where you're from?"
Then she started talking about runts and how it isn't as bad a word as he was making it out to be, at least in her eyes it wasn't. But she noticed his discomfort even still as he turned his attention away from the cabinet, he glanced up at her and fidgeting, his tail fluffing up and his ears flicked back before he replied quietly, rubbing at his upper chest "Sometimes got called that...elsewhere and believe me, I know about surviving and being underestimated"
"Well then, guess we have that in common." Felicia smiled at the raccoon. Never in a million years did she think she'd be pulling off a SHIELD heist with a raccoon of all things.
Then when she opened the security lock, Felicia stepped aside to let Rocket examine the item, carefully taking it out and resting it on one shoulder like he was using to handling guns then commented quietly "Yeah, it's a Chitauri gun, they wear it on the lower arm and it's an energy-based weapon. We fought, well my friends did at least, a bunch of these guys before I ended up trapped here."
"Shiny." Felicia smirked. One of the few Sci-Fi references she knew. "Is it in workable condition? If not think you can make it workable?"
