DESCRIPTION AND PERSONALITY
Description: As Marvelman Micky has the physical APPEARANCE and hair of a hollywood actor. This imposing appearance comes with a square jaw, Muscular cheek bones and a greek nose along with Blue Eyes and short blond hair. His body STRUCTURE is that of an man who engages in advanced EXERCISE with large biceps Shoulders, legs, hands, feet and a six pack under his tight body suit which spans most of his body except for his gloves and boots. The suit in question is comprised of a light blue spandex like attire with several extra PIECES. These PIECES are the following items.
A red COLLAR with golden balls places around it, Red gloves with yellow sleeves, a red belt with golden highlights, a large yellow stripe spanning the LENGTH of his chest leading to a yellow circle in the middle with the letters "MM" in red in the centre and a pair of boots matching the colour schemes of the gloves. Micky Moran on the other hand could not be more different from his SUPER HEROIC counterpart. Moran shares the same hair and eye col,our as Marvelman, but as a 10 year old boy shares none of physical ATTRIBUTES that make marvelman what he is. His hair is scruffy his face soft in apperance, his body AVERAGE sized for a child his age. usual ATTIRE is a t-shirt, jeans and trainers with white socks.
Personality: To most people Marvelman's IMPOSING presence often overshadows his true nature. WHETHER as Marvelman or Micky Moran, the true nature of both is that of a 10 year old child who loves soccar and adventure and hates school and homework. Both the POSITIVE or NEGATIVE aspects of such a personality exist inside the two forms. While Micky can be PLAYFUL, kind hearted, friendly, Energetic and excitable, but at the same time be prone to fits on sulking, angst and MISBEHAVIOUR alongside arrogance and cockiness. He is also rather EMOTIONAL and can be hurt emotionally by certain words and actions by other people. All in all however, Micky enjoys his life as a superhero and will do anything to defend britain and the people he loves, Including his friends in The Marvelman Family, who he now finds himself missing dearly on this new, strange DIMENSION.
He has a strong hatred of injustice after seeing his PARENTS killed by a murderer in broad daylight and is determined to bring anyone he deems to be evil or corrupt to justice. Especially The Marvelman Family's arch NEMESIS, Dr. Emil Gargunza.
Despite his childish nature, Micky is also rather cunning for a boy his age and can easily work his way out of certain problems (All except for his MATH's homework.) and he often uses it whever he can to get him through his adventures. Finally is MICKEY'S sense of RESPONSIBILITY and his self made promise to use his powers for good without hurting the innocent without EXCESSIVE force or the taking of human life.
POWERS AND ABILITIES
Powers: Transformation:In order to become marvelman, Micky has to say the codeword "Kimota" that TRANSFORMs him into his superhero form and back again. This he does in a MINIATURE MUSHROOM cloud THAT seems to effect only him, AS WELL as cause a moderately strong wind. This transformation is powered by human energy that Micky's genetically modified body then recycles into atomic energy. This powers the transformation along with his other powers. This energy is obtained via eating, sleeping and drinking.
Super STRENGTH: As Marvelman, Micky is able to lift roughly 90 tons of weight with little trouble. However his STRENGTH is LIMITED and it can become harder to lift something over 100 tons depending on the PRECISE weight. He can also create MINIATURE THUNDER claps just by clapping his hands that can shatter glass and throw people and objects back. An effective form of CROWD control.
Super Speed: Marvelman is able to fly at a MAXIMUM of mach 3 speeds.
Near Invulnerability: Marvelman is INVULNERABLE to nearly everything depending on the level of his stamina. This stamina can be depleted by objects and devices that negate or absorb atomic energy, leaving him vulnerable to more things than them. He is also VULNERABLE to atomic or radiation based weapons with a power EQUALLING or EXCEEDING his own. Having no ADAMANTIUM or vibranium on his earth, he finds himself weakened to them as he comes from a universe unknown to these elements. This is also true of Mjölnir, Thors hammer. Lastly since Marvelman's power came from Beta rays, Someone powered by Gamma rays such as The Hulk is capable of wearing him down.
Superhuman senses: Marvelman is able to see and hear further than most humans at up to a range of 100 METERS away depending on stamina levels.
HAND to hand combat:In order to prepare himself for his somewhat forced career, Micky had a friend from the orphanage teach him AMATEUR combat skills. He found that combined with his powers, it could be rather effective.
HISTORY
Michael Moran was born on the Second of March 2004 in London, England to parents whose names are unknown. All that is known about them is that Micky's father was a pilot and that his mother was a nurse somewhere in the city. Micky himself grew up in a seemingly normal environment with a relatively normal family for the first 10 years of his life. During this time his parents tried their best to install values of trust and goodwill into their son, in a part of the city that was slowly but strongly slipping into a crime ridden hell hole. As the years ground on, The Moran's tried their hardest to keep themselves and their son safe from the horrors of the real world but as Micky grew older and more mature, his parents realised that their son had to know the world he would inherit.
At 1st, Micky was unsure if he wanted this world or not. It was his mother who told him that while the world may be home to some of humanity's worst, it could also be home to some of humanity's best. All he had to do was try to see the good in human kind and that those with less than good intentions could change their ways for the better. Micky tried to believe this but it seemed that whenever he went out to play football or to school, that someone was being robbed, mugged or chased by gangs. Micky began to wonder if there was truly good in these people. Could it be that his parents had been wrong all this time? Maybe they had lied to him in order to block out the horrible truth. Regardless, Micky Moran continued on through life.
On his seventh birthday, Micky and his family went out to The London Dungeon for a surprise. Like most kids on that one, special day of the year Micky was looking forward to Cake, a party and most important of all, presents. Unfortunately, young Micky was to receive a much more different and much more terrible surprise for his birthday this year. While his parents were crossing the street on their way home, a car turned the corner of the street followed closely by a police car. The first car was going too fast to stop in time. within seconds it was heading for the zebra crossing at nearly top speed. The moran's, knowing that they couldn't save themselves in time, pushed their son out of the way before the car slammed straight into them. The last thing Micky ever saw of his parents before the criminal in the car nearly tore them both in two was the look of horror and emotional pain on their faces.
Micky's life became hell after that. He had no living relatives to take him in, and he was taken in by an orphanage. His love for his parents still burned as strongly as ever, but their words about trust and love seemed hollow and meaningless especially in the orphanage in which he now lived, where things like "love" seemed to be a dirty word. He began to think that the evil portion of the human race was unsalvageable. That they didn't deserve to be given a second chance. This became more apparent every day that went by as the daily grind began to include bullying, verbal abuse and relentless chores. In order the survive Micky took up the position of a ''Copy Boy'' at a local paper. In this universe child labor still existed but not to the extent of the victorian era. Children could only find certain employment OPPORTUNITIES and even then, they had to be willing to do it. Forced employment for minors was ILLEGAL as it should always be. But in an age of digital media this job had little chances of good pay. Life seemed to be getting worse and for a long while, Micky wondered if he should just give up.
But elsewhere in the world, events were transpiring that would change Micky Moran's life forever. The famous German Astrophysicist, a man by the name of Guntag Barghelt had made what he called a discovery. For months now news crews and reporters had badgered him for the truth behind this discovery but the scientist kept his mouth shut for what he called "the best." As it happened, The Daily Bugle had used up most of it's available reporters to try and get the story out of the old man, who had lived in America ever since World War Two when he had come to escape Nazi oppression. He now resided in a LABORATORY somewhere near The Mississippi river. It should have raised Micky's SUSPICIONS when he was suddenly promoted from copy boy to "Cub Reporter", especially with something like the interet that could give them all the info they might need at a single click, but as the editor stated, a promotions a promotion. The "promotion" as Micky would soon find out, was only a temporary deal.
TWENTY FOUR HOURS LATER, Micky arrived in Mississippi ready to CONDUCT the interview, unaware that up in his bedroom, GUNTAG BARGHELT was EYEING his every MOVEMENT. He knew he had found the answer to all his problems. Sure enouth, when Micky knocked on the lab door he found himself getting more than he BARGAINED for when the professor dragged him inside. Micky became frightened, wondering if he was being kidnapped. As it happened however the scientist seemed to be friendly and unlike with other reporters was actually willing to explain his discovery. All his talks on the subject was to make anyone desperate enouth to send the person he really wanted. In this case, a boy like Micky. Barghelt explained that he had discovered what he REFERRED to as the "key harmonic of the universe" that would grant it's user IMMENSE POWER BY using it. When used why he wouldn't use an adult for this experiment, Barghelt explained that an adult would be too easily corrupted by such power, that a child who had not yet lost his innocence would USE such powers for good in human matters.
At first, Micky was reluctant to be Barghelt's guinea pig, but in the end the prospect of creating a world where no child would have to lose his parents to desperate criminals was too strong and he allowed the ASTROPHYSICIST to PREFORM his treatments on him. This Barghelt did via a tube like DEVICE that he called his "transformation machine." after a series of radiation based treatments within the machine, mIcky emerged feeling COMPLETELY normal. Barghelt explained that in order to activate these powers, Micky would need to speak the metaphoric "key" he had mentioned. This key was in fact a word. "Kimota." The [professor stood back as the word left Micky's lips for the first time. Suddenly, a mushroom cloud appeared where Micky Moran used to be. WHEN IT DISSIPATED, The boy was gone. In his PLACE, standing COMPLETELY naked, was a man with the same hair and eye colour who appeared to be in his mid-twenties with the body of a wrestler. Yet the part of the man who was still Micky seemed perfectly aware of what was happening. The experiment had worked. Knowing that due to whatever effects the experiment had, Micky's boy form (who was trapped in a sort of limbo state) would still retain his clothes, Barghelt set about giving Micky his suit. He had even put the double M symbol on, stating that They stood for "MIRACLE Marvel" Putting the suit on but Not liking the name, Micky picked the name "Marvelman" instead. the name ha stuck ever since.
But before THE two men could enjoy their triumph, A man with a gun burst into the room and held the two at gunpoint. The man's name was Herman Schwein, a former colleague of Barghelt's who had gone to work with the nazis while Barghelt had escaped. He had EVADED capture for years after the war and had been spying on his former friend SINCE the BEGINNING of the experiment. He now sought to steal the experiment for himself and gai the power of Marvelman. Marvelman didn't dare punch Schwein in case he killed him by mistake. instead he used his powers to walk forward and allow the rival scientist to unload his gun on him. terrified, SCHWEIN ATTEMPTED to make a getaway in an experimental plane built by BARGHELT. UNFORTUNATELY for him, the plane was untested and managed to explode in mid-air.
Semi-horrified, Micky turned to Barghelt only to find him DISAPPEARING into a heavenly CLOUD of light. It seemed that Barghelt was more than a MERE ASTROPHYSICIST, especially when he stated that he was going to an "abode" he had created on an ASTEROID. Before the bewildered Marvelman could ask if he would ever see the man again, Barghelt had vanished, leaving Micky to figure out for himself how to get back to normal.
But after that day, things were never the same. Because once Micky Moran learned to CONTROL his powers more and more, sightings of Marvelman became more frequent over the skyline of London. Soon, the name "Marvelman" became feared by criminals throughout the city and soon throughout the world. Since there were no other superheroes in the world besides himself, Marvelman became an overnight smash. In the end even the police and the army became THANKFUL for his help. Terrorists, murderers and drug lords soon found that there was no ESCAPE when marvelman was on duty. But arguably, the most dangerous foe Marvelman ever faced was Dr. Emil Gargunza, a once BRILLIANT scientist from Vera Cruz, now a power hungry madman who after his first encounter with Marvelman had dedicated his life to wiping out the heroic figure. While at first Micky operated alone, he was soon joined by two others. Teenager Dickie Dauntless AKA Young Marvelman, younger boy Johnny Bates AKA Kid Marvelman and the mysterious Marvelwoman. All three of whom had been given their powers by Bargelt via his asteroid as an "encore." Thus The Marvelman Family was born. And now Gargunza and others like him would soon realise that crime does indeed hurt.
One day Marvelman was fighting Dr. Gargunza over Iceland when the evil doctor jumped out of the plane he'd HIJACKED and PARACHUTED to SAFETY. Marvelman followed after him and ATTEMPTED to capture him. But as he flew through the fog the atomic powered hero found that the icelandic fog seemed to be getting thinner. When it finally disappeared, he found himself hovering over what looked like New York City. Curious, but unsure of what to do, Marvelman headed down to the city to find out what was going on.
ROLE-PLAYING SAMPLE
If Gargunza thought he could get away under the cover of fog he had another thing coming. There was no way that he was going to get away with almost turning Reykjavik into a wasteland. With killing millions of innocent people. What he'd done was damn near unforgivable. Totally unforgivable to Micky would have been if the loony had actually pulled off the attack. Which Marvelman was glad he'd averted. He didn't always need The Marvelman Family for missions like this but there were times when he wished that Dickie or Johnny or even Marvelwoman were here to give him some extra eyes and ears. Sadly they weren't here and he was. But there were times when Micky wished it was the other way round. It was hard to remember what things used to be like when he had been the world's only superhero. When He'd had to do everything on his own. Sometimes things were harder than they used to be.
"UGH. This fog. If I ever see Dickie again I'm gonna take up that offer for his torch. Maybe even a sweatshirt."
But as he continued to fly downwards, Marvelman soon realised that the fog was beginning to become thinner and thinner and his mood started to lift a little. This meant that Gargunza was running out of sky. Sooner or later, he'd have him and then.....
"What in the..."
The fig had gone, but now Micky found himself hovering over what looked like... no, it couldn't be! But yes! Yes it was! Rather than the Scandinavian nation of Iceland, Micky found himself flying towards one of the biggest cities in the world. New York City. But how was this possible? A moment ago he'd been over Scandinavia and now he was over NYC? what was the deal? Could it be that Gargunza had miscalculated and headed to The Americas instead of his designated target? No, it couldn't be. He'd seen the doc fly over Iceland, been there when the plane had made it's way towards Reykjavik to drop it's load onto the city. There was no doubt. Something was up, but what? If Marvelman hadn't known any better he might have suspected this of being one of the "good" doctors tricks. But this seemed to real to be anything else but reality. In order to find out for sure, Micky flew closer to the city until he was in landing distance of a skyscraper. In the end, he landed on an office block and rested there.
Unfortunately this hadn't gone unnoticed. People down on the streets below had noticed the decent of this strange figure. Many of them had been looking up as Micky had made his way down. A few of them were curious. Some of them were frightened. Using his super sight, Micky found that a good number of them were running away from the building he was standing on top of, but couldn't understand why. Burning with curiosity even more than before he hovered down to the street with his hands raised trying to calm the people down.
"It's OK folks. If there's any problems keep in mind that I'm here to HEY!"
He was rudely cut off when one of the citizens threw something, a rock at him. It didn't hurt but all the same he did notice it. At a second glance, Marvelman noticed that other people were picking up things too. Litter, stones, anything they could throw. Marvelman tried to say something to quell their anger but it was no good. In the next instant they were pelting him with everything in their hands. It was at that point that the side of Marvelman that was Micky Moran started to kick into overdrive. Specifically the frightened child side. Why were these people doing this when he was only trying to help? Didn't they know who he was? Didn't they recognise Marvelman? He tried his best to fight back to obvious pain in his voice but the screams of hate from the group were fogging up his mind and he couldn't think straight.
"Please! No! P-Please listen to me I'm a good guy, i just want to..."
But it seemed that the crowd weren't interested in hearing what he was trying to tell them. All they cared about was whatever hatred they were feeling right now and more importantly taking it all out on him. Micky held both sides of his head in mental pain. This was giving him a headache. He couldn't think he...
"STOP IT!"
Involuntarily, Micky clapped his hands together causing a shock wave of power. Windows shattered and the crowd was flung back by the force. Micky, horrified that he had used his powers this way made a run for it. What had he been thinking? He could have killed one of those people! It was all to much. He needed to run, to hide, to figure things out before he went insane from all the confusion. Everything had happened so quickly. It was like there was hardly any time to breath. The way these people had treated him was wrong but he needed to know why they had done what they'd done. He kept running but he didn't... no, couldn't stop. He only stopped when he found himself near a dark enough, gloomy enough back alleyway where he ducked in. He would be safe there. But not for long. To keep these people from tearing him apart there was only one thing to do. He'd have to transform. Still trying to compose himself, Marvelman uttered the word.
"K-Kimota..."
